The U.S. Capitol Police arrested a group of staffers with CBS's "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" after they allegedly illegally entered a U.S. House of Representatives office building on Thursday night, Fox News has learned.

To be clear, the Capitol Police never arrested anyone for January 6, 2021. Other agencies have stepped in to do the job. Leadership at the USCP is a joke. What difference does it make? They were understaffed, underarmed and unprepared for the GOP’s attempt to overthrow the government; that comes from the top. They didn’t arrest anyone in the Capitol and just herded everyone out. The right wing element needs to be cleansed from every governmental agency before they do any more damage.

Probably for the same reasons that some Capitol Police simply opened the barricades and allow the insurrectionists in. Charges dropped for all 9 members of Colbert staff. The prosecutors said they were "invited in" earlier in the day and couldn't prove their trespassing charges. Meanwhile how many people are charged and convicted of trespassing came through doors that the Capital Hill police opened and "invited"?

No one charged was invited in on Jan. 6. Capitol Police may have given up after the Capitol was breached by violent action, but that is not an invitation.

Entry into the Capitol has to go through screening, visitor processing etc. And that is the process that the Colbert team followed - in addition to actually being invited by members of Congress, which the J6 loons weren't.

And, just because one or two idiot Capitol Police officers were seen on camera doing things like moving barriers, that DOES NOT in any way constitute "officially inviting them in."

Meanwhile we still deserve investigations and answers as to why there was a handful of apparently MAGA-sympathetic USCP officers seen aiding and abetting the violent mob, even posing for pictures with them, while the rest of USCP was being in the fight of their lives, getting savagely attacked and beaten trying to defend the Capitol from that violent, insanely delusional mob.
