Story:

The U.S. Capitol Police arrested a group of staffers with CBS's "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" after they allegedly illegally entered a U.S. House of Representatives office building on Thursday night, Fox News has learned.

The group of nine people were arrested in the Longworth House Office Building after being escorted out of the Jan. 6 committee hearing earlier in the day because they did not have proper press credentials, according to sources.

The same group resurfaced later on Thursday night after the Capitol complex was closed to public visitors and Fox News is told that they took videos and pictures around the offices of two Republican members of Congress, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy R-Calif. and Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo.

A senior source in the U.S House of Representatives told Fox News that nine individuals associated with Stephen Colbert's show were arrested: Jake Plunkett, Allison Martinez, Tyrone Dean, Stephen Romond, Nicoletta Green, Brendan Hurley, Robert Smigel, Josh Comers, David Feldman.

Let me guess: they had the right filming permits and the Trumpy elements within the Capitol Police got huffy and arrested them without cause, then a senior Republican rep breathlessly ran as fast as they could to Fox. That “allegedly” is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Wow, they actually arrested them at the Capitol instead of letting them get away like the Trumpers.

Sorry! Wrong guess!!!!

Let’s see, story broken by Jesse Waters, already online at the Daily Mail despite the fact that it’s 3 am there and the only place you can really find this info is the RWNJ propaganda sphere, so I’m gonna go ahead and say: “Not sorry! Right guess!!!!”

I love Colbert's show! I really hope his team had the right permits. I'd be disappointed if his show is breaking the law.

Don't you think the capitol police have suffered enough without baseless internet rumors spread about them?

I just saw in the NYT that they had set up filming permission through some office in the House of Representatives. If only the Capitol Police didn’t take a year and a half to arrest actual terrorists. Oh yeah, they didn’t arrest anyone, the FBI finally did. Pathetic. You know the film crew was probably told to stop filming so they got audio.

No, of course not.

This is big, however.

This is as bad as Watergate. Maybe worse.
