Gaslighting. Read your own list serve, but even if you’re deaf it’s about horrendous health effects on you over years but even worse on the children.
Here’s a guy who put the inserts in (and still had to sell up): During a 20-minute interview, noise from flights departing from the airport six miles downriver was constant on a Wednesday afternoon. works from home, and routinely mutes his phone during conference calls to block out the roar of jet engines above his home. He struggles to maintain his concentration, and is appealing a property tax appraisal that, he believes, overvalues a home now drowning in jet noise. “Well, we get woken up a little after 5 a.m. Sometimes we get woken up at 1 a.m. as planes are approaching, so there have been many days where our sleep pattern is four hours, and that’s it,” says . |
Yep, and DC won with the recent move of the navigation point. Our noise issue improved significantly while I see more people in Arlington complaining about suddenly being exposed to the noise they did not experience before. |
|
I’ve done what PP suggested and have hard data. Roughly every 1.5 minutes, breaking 60 and often 70 dB on a workday morning in the Palisades. Absolute disaster. 6-8 planes every 10 minutes
What you can’t hear is the worst. Chronic disease in the making |

Truth.
A higher proportion of the ultrafine particles (UFPs) in jet emissions are so small they can penetrate the central nervous system when inhaled, the report said. Communities under flight paths, like SeaTac, Des Moines, Highline, Angle Lake, Beacon Hill and Rainier Valley, are exposed to those “ultra-ultrafines” when planes take off and land, researchers found. The UW study adds to a growing international body of research on the particles, including some preliminary reports showing correlations between exposure to ultrafines and higher incidences of some kinds of cancer, as well as lung diseases that cause trouble breathing and deep, throaty coughs. “Strong and consistent evidence from animal studies indicates that long-term exposure to UFPs is related to negative effects on the brain, nervous and respiratory system,” the state Department of Health concluded in a separate review of research on ultrafine particles released this month, funded by the Port of Seattle. |
| Truth because nothing will change while the old guard is gaslighting for a fistful of $ |
| I’m so sick and tired of people minimizing the issue. Honestly, it’s unbearably loud and probably very bad for health |
| But what shall we do about this? You have a proposal crazy lady? Or just enjoying being crazy? |

“I want transparency”
Bottom line, Seto said: “When we’ve heard from residents, it’s often framed from an environmental justice perspective—why are flights concentrated over certain communities and not others?" Those communities are asking legitimate questions about how this translates into differences in exposures and impacts and how health outcomes might be related to aircraft emissions, he said. Harris hopes the study and its baseline data will help spur regular public monitoring of ultrafine particles—and a study of what the numbers mean for the health of impacted communities. “I want us all to be able to see the air-quality impact of the number of flights growing and flight patterns changing,” he said. “I want transparency.” |

It is shocking that no health and environment studies have been done in the Palisades. I blame the residents for always trying to shut up anyone talking about this in realistic terms.
For most people valuing their health, this is not worth the risk. Even if it’s only about the real estate buy where it’s safe — Cleveland Park etc at someone said. |
How about tell the truth so other families are not put in dire straits? |
|
I am not tracking this debate.
I live in n Arlington about 2 miles from Arlington National cemetery. The airport is not an issue for us; we hear the planes but we are not on approach path. We do have constant helicopters and in the path of military fly overs that may knock off a decoration or two once a month or so/set off car alarms. Cost of living here I say. |
Who should tell the truth? And what is the truth? You sound seriously unhinged. |
Will you also provide me with the 2mil I need to buy a shack in Cleveland Park? |
So they built the airport after you moved in? Must be really old. |
