Disclose? It's publicly available info! That's like suing for failing to disclose that 495 is 400 yards away and there is highway noise.
Hilarious. |
|
It really should be a required disclosure!
Just like with noise ordinances, if the noise is regular and occurs outside of normal waking hours, then it has an impact on human health and should definitely be disclosed as a fault. |
| It’s actually interesting what happens over the next decade. Especially if we have a recession (per the Economist) and people in parallel become more aware of the link between the environment and health (chronic diseases, Alzheimer’s and other dementias, stress, cardiovascular, respiratory, diabetes, autoimmune). The toxic Spring Valley is a huge chunk of NW DC, Palisades, Kent, Foxall etc have unbearable and dangerous plane noise/pollution. If you care, and people increasingly do, it’s Cleveland/Woodley/Mass Ave Heights or EOTP? |
Next time you buy a house look up and around and at a map. |
| Give me a break, try living near an active Air Force or Naval Air jet base. Jet noise in DC is nothing compared to that. |
Add Chevy Chase, AU Park and Wakefield to the “acceptable” neighborhoods. |
I would bet people commenting have not been taken by the reassurances. I think being honest would be good. Shaming and gaslighting is just staving off the worse flight (no pun intended) later on (insult to injury etc) |
Agreed |
I'm not so sure that the bolded statement is accurate. Seriously, folks should at least do some research (or hire a lawyer) and figure out if they have a case. My two minutes of research suggests that environmental hazards must be disclosed in DC, so I would think plane noise qualifies. Don't be afraid to sue, folks. |
| Albeit AU park is block by block for toxins |
Please share if you found something. I thought the disclosure law/form was limited. |
It's not an invisible hazard! |
|
What upset me as a casual observer was just how awful
people have been to the “crazy” (not crazy at all) people calling the place noise in these areas out (ditto Spring Valley) |
| “Plane” |
Haha, this is wrong. If you think that flight paths are the same as highways from a disclosure perspective, that's wrong. If I were on a jury, I would totally sympathize with a buyer who had no clue about plane noise that only happened at 5:30 am, but I would not sympathize with a buyer who complained about a nearby highway. |
