Yes I did not play MLS next because it did not exist. However, I played for a top club which continued to practice and have games during the spring season. I went to high school practice then club practice. We always had HS games on Tuesdays/wednesday and Fridays. Luckily I did not have club practice on Fridays.(missed Tuesday/Wednesday practice) And still maintain a 3.8 gpa out of 4.0. It is completely doable, however I did not have time to do anything else. |
I'm a college recruiter. You proved to me you don't follow, care nor respect rules. Ask again about care |
Once again the kids playing for academies for Free should absolutely not being play HS soccer. However, anyone that pays-to-play (MLS next included) should have the ability as long as they talk to the coaches and reach agreement. Honestly, the coaches have talked to do no care as long as they show up and the clubs themselves are the ones responsible who have to sanction themselves. The sanction is a fine for the club so they would be giving themselves a fine to pay. If they did get rid of someone, they are probably not a starter and not going to play D1 soccer, in there eyes anyway. If that is the case, it's better for the kid to find a club where the coaches believe in them. |
College recruiter for what? Not soccer? If a kid is already committed and his college soccer coach is aware. He should be allowed to do what he wants. At that point of the season they are just accumulating points for the top age group, which is a joke bc of the year vs school year which is switching back so half the team is not graduating each year. |
The problem is the MLS next clubs are sending 50% of the players to D3, maybe 10% to D1/Pro levels and 40% not playing anything. Of the 50% going to D3 half are only play 1 year and quitting bc they are not good enough. The kids/parents are being given these promises that the clubs are not meeting and instead of shrinking the league to get higher quality teams they are adding more every year. My suggestion is if you kid is not a top 3-4 player on his MLS next team and you believe he will go pro/D1. Find a new team! |
LOL So you're not a top player wearing a green shirt you think changing to a red shirt makes you a better player? Many players happily go to D3 soccer universities like Johns Hopkins because of the academics |
Actually believe it or not the answer is yes, especially in youth. All the best players are playing the same 2-3 positions on a given team. They are the priority of the team and are developing faster than everyone else. I would have to find the article but like 70% of professional players played 2 main positions growing up in youth soccer. |
NVA is holding hard and fast to this rule as a newer entrant to MLS Next. Unless your kid is in private and has a waiver you will put your players future slot at risk. The coaches and club don’t want to get reprimanded simply because your kid decided to ignore their clear expectations in order to play public HS soccer in spring. FWIW- tons of Alexandria kids playing private HS soccer this fall, so the OP complaining about SYC and in the same breath praising ASA as a rule follower is ironic. Of course, many private HS require students to play a sport for graduation so MLS Next waivers to play HS are possible (without scholarship) which is something OP should read up on before claiming everybody is breaking the rules …could be they are actually following them to a tee- especially if their are playing fall HS (which may signal private). |
NVA sucks. We lost the chance to play the NY Red Bulls x2 year for this turd team. |
He was kicked from MLSN? Did the club get fined? |
