Except toddlers are people who will, wait for it, GROW UP and pay into the social security system you rely on in your old age. Do dogs do that? NO. How about: would you want a barking dog on an airplane? Than that's the same analogy. Toddlers are little humans who are still learning. And yes they require help from the people around them. And yes, they can be annoying. Dogs need TRAINING not to bark in situations it's not appropriate. Thankfully, unlike human children, dogs can be trained to do this from about 3 months of age. Your "it's just the way they are" excuse is pure LAZINESS. There are certainly lazy parents too, sure. But this thread is about animals. |
No idea. Often, we don't even see or hear anything outside until he points (barks) it out to us. Sometimes he barks at something outside and there's nothing there. Who knows? And I don't think its a pent-up energy issue. He does this regardless. |
+1 PP who thinks that Lap Dog isn't defending his turf is not that bright. Heck yes, he's barking to scare you and your stupid 75 lb doofus off. He's not necessarily reactive and stressed, oh Pet Therapist. If he could get free he'd TAKE YOU OUT. |

you don't see a HUGE difference between a dog barking from their own window inside and one who runs on to your property? |
+1. My H had a 13-lbs Jack Russell that he got in HS and she attacked and hurt a lab pretty badly - she bit the lab's neck under the muzzle and almost killed their other dog too. She also bit my SIL's face and attacked our DC1 when he was 3 years old, totally unprovoked. She adored my H and tried to bite me every time I would get close to him. My ILs tried all kids of training with no luck - that dog was Chucky. A pitbull has a PSI of 235 and a Jack Russell of 200, so they can do a ton of damage despite their size. They are a terrifying breed and mean as hell. |

It doesn't really bother me as the person being barked at, but I figure it must drive the neighbors crazy. My neighbor had a dog for a brief time and they were terrible dog owners. That dog was bark and whine for HOURS and it was seriously infuriating. It was so loud, even with all the doors and windows closed
I have dogs and they don't bark. I have taught them not to do that. It's possible. Maybe I just lucked out with both of them? We live in a neighborhood with tons of dogs and I don't think it's being a good neighbor to let your dogs bark like crazy 10-12x/day, every time someone walks past your house. |

LOL! This was excellent. |
| Oh wow, it had never occurred to me that this would bother anyone more than a passing annoyance if even. It’s a dog in its own house, how long does it take you to walk by? |
Then it should be euthanized. |
That depends. If the dog started barking the second my dog started squatting to poop, we may be there a while til I finish picking up after my dog. |
this is amazing 😂😂😂 |
Yeah, don't poop on my lawn either. If it's not public property or yours, don't poop there. |
😂 The next time your toddler annoys a fellow passenger by kicking his seat, make sure you remind the passenger he should get over it because your kid will pay into social security one day. |
