Supply chain shortages / inflation: Petty things that are affecting you

The smaller bottles of Fiji water were out for a month+ bc stuck on a ship off CA coast. Finally, found 3 at Giant yesterday.

Jasmine rice. I can only find it in the smaller bags. It's easy to buy basmati or regular white rice, but my family prefers jasmine, and I haven't seen the big bags of it in my last 5 shopping trips, at 3 different grocery stores.

First off, the OP said "petty things," so obviously no one is super serious about this.

Secondly, so what if elsewhere sucks? Doesn't mean it has to suck here too. We've all probably been to developing countries. I lived in one developing country for five years and others for a year or two at a time. The US is MAGICAL in comparison when it comes to buying such things. I would like it to remain magical.

A lot of the things people are citing on this thread as being unavailable are readily available at target, Amazon, Walmart.

The pie crusts—clearly your store just ran short, they are all over.

The TJ advent calendar…there are 50 blinkity billion advent calendars from all over everywhere available.

Some of you seem to think that if your preferred Giant is out of an item, it doesn’t exist. Not true in most cases cited on this thread.

school uniforms from Flynn&O'Hara.

Whipped cream cheese, very hard to find.
Chocolate Hazelnut Uncrustables, often empty shelf.

OB tampons, regular absorbency, impossible to find. They've long been difficult (only super or multi packs available in stores), but at least Amazon worked. Can't even order on Amazon now.

$4/gal gas in a time when WMATA is basically like, find some option other than Metro for getting around.

Literally, nothing.

+1
The supply chain import issues are wildly overblown re: consumer impacts

IKEA meatballs! I am craving them and the store in Greenbelt was out when I had to go pick something up the other week. And you can't order them online.

I haven’t been able to find primers - ANY primers, regardless of size/type - since spring of 2020.

Did the whole world suddenly take up reloading???

Ore Ida tater tots, Ms. Shubert’s frozen dinner rolls, Sprite zero, Tyson chicken nuggets.

Sometimes I can find them, but more often than not the shelves are bare.

Cant find Kashi blueberry clusters cereal and Happy Trekking trail mix from Trader Joes.

Wegman's in Tyson's had them last night.

I’m not in dmv, but thanks!

Whole Foods gets all the good strawberries. (Seriously…when all the other grocery stores cut their strawberry orders at the beginning of the pandemic, Whole Foods snapped up the contracts and that is why Whole Foods has the best and most strawberries.)

Nope - Whole Foods has not had strawberries for the last two weeks but did get a shipment today!
