Supply chain shortages / inflation: Petty things that are affecting you

Funny enough, a piano bench. Very few stores (including online) have them, the choices are limited and the prices are through the roof.

Try eBay or Ikea for something that might work.

I actually had this problem 4-5 years ago. Ordered one through a local store that took months to come, and it’s really crappy. We usually just use a chair.

Curious if anyone posting about not finding things is doing so from a non coastal state? I saw an interesting map that showed coastal states had much lower inflation and delays than landlocked states in the middle of the country.

In CA we haven’t seen shortages of anything. Gas and water (drought not supply chain) is the only thing that costs more now.

On LLbean, ordering in November for popular items (especially the best color patterns) always is delivery in Feb. I think they sell out from people in the NE buying it in September.

Oof. Sorry to hear it.

I don’t notice anything specifically, but I *do* notice that I’ve become extremely frugal, which used to be my wont if not my preference, out of necessity. I am a bit of a spender but I find myself truly only buying necessities now - I have no desire for anything frivolous (except getting my nails done). I am worried about the future. At least my nails will look nice.

Cat food - where are you Sheba?

Passports - why are they taking so long to renew ?

Wood and other materials for renovations

Part to fix fridge shut door motor

Worst of all, Play Station 5 - have been trying for a year!

Grateful to have toilet tissue, paper towels, toiletries and fresh produce are though …. Most of these items are not essential.

Totally get you on the PS 5. I’ve given up.

Here in Florida thing seem a little delayed but mostly fine. I believe all the ports are wide open and working fine in FL so yeah... no big delays or anything. Now Amazon is like 3/4 day delivery instead of overnight but it's not a huge deal.

Cat food is shortage of cans. Which are made from recycled aluminum etc. and same as shortages of other canned goods. Too many people switched to canned goods and stocked up and took cans out if circulation.

Ordered new patio furniture in April. Furniture arrived in August but the cushions are now expected in February.

My friend in the south tells me there is a potato shortage there

Omg did I write this???? Just found it at Wegmans — I get there early and check that pet food area first to see what was restocked overnight. Good luck in your quest!
