Thank you, OP! My daughter's book club chose I Am Malala as their book this fall after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan. Made for a very powerful discussion about girls and women under the rule of the Taliban and others of their ilk.

It's not the shape of the smile or lack of oda( that's cultural) they don't exude a warmth that you can sense when a couple are in love and care about each other. Others might say the body language is off. Basically I get major narcissist dickweed vibes from her husband.

That being said we really only know so much from pictures and they could be happy with each other and be married for the next 50 years

Also, wasn’t she shot at 12? Malala grew up incredibly fast. No one’s making her get married. I guarantee she made the choice on her own.

+1 It’s been a while since I read anything about the medical aspect of her injuries, but I would not be surprised if it was something that could require more surgeries as time goes on.

She's very old to be getting married in Pashtun culture. He finished college in 2012, so he's probably in his early 30s. I sincerely wish them all the best.
