Seriously, you always write that and it’s ridiculous. Spot is a dog’s name; Daisy is a literary name and has been for over a century as well as a common French nickname for Marguitte.

My dog’s name is Sophia.

Well if we were living in France and speaking French. To the French our pronunciation of their country FRANtz drives them nut because to them it FROW Ts who knows how they say Daisy.

You’re an idiot. Daisy Buchanan ring a bell, fool? What about Driving Miss Daisy? Daisy Kenyon? Daisy Miller? Princess Daisy? Daisy Clover?

And the word “daisy” in French is Marguerite. It has nothing to do with pronunciation.

+1. The dog-poster is beyond stupid. He/she writes the same thing to any number of name posts. This “comeback” from her was laughably stupid “(who knows how they say daisy”) and a record even for her!

I can’t use it. So someone else should.

Is that pronounced lee-OWE-knee?

There are multiple acceptable pronunciations. I think I would have gone with Lee-owe-knee with equal stress on all syllables.
