3 years is a lifetime in youth soccer. That is enough time to launch, run, and destroy an entire large youth soccer league. Stick with 3 months or better yet, 3 weeks when discussing youth soccer.

3 years ago - McLean 01 national champs
2 years ago - VDA 06 national runner up

Doesn’t fit your Narrative. Typical

I dont need to look anything up. I’ve been around and understand the landscape. I don’t live in a ulittle bubble.

And it makes not a bit of difference. have sent one off to colleege and am about to send another so my family has been at this for years. I could not tell you about any championships in youth sports other than the few that invloved my own child. And that is how it should be.

No need to be on this forum then

Soon. I had in run in just last week with crazy dad that has been a destructive force for his own player and for others. He simply cannot moderate his level of over-involvement in the soccer life of his (very good) player and it spills over to other kids on the team. Don't be that parent.

FCV dad?

So you're an ex fabulous athlete who deals is common sense/math algorithms and talking to coaches around town AND you don't care who knows it? This will make your 15 year old daughter a great player on a national championship team for sure...

More like bench warmer in college...but anyways. Yes, nothing wrong with being friendly and having intellectual conversation with others. Try it sometime. It opens doors you didn't know were there. Conversations and friendships I have made over the years has only benefited our DD. Same goes for DS who plays a different sport. As long as one does not makes waves, opinions and conversation is welcome. It's the parents who complain about coaches, players and management who get themselves in trouble.

Oh, and I highly doubt any team in our area will ever win an ECNL National Championship but there is certainly an off chance.

I appreciate your openness and pragmatic approach, Bethesda dad. Not sure why everyone always has to be sniping on here. It’s much more interesting to have analytical discussions about teams, games, clubs and the youth soccer teams than constant attacks and put downs.

I also always am amused by posters on the DCUM Soccer forum who mock other posters for caring enough about youth soccer or their kids’ experience to post on the DCUM Soccer forum. We all care a lot about our kids’ activities, successes, and failures and pretending you are above it is silly. This forum and site are a great local resource with excellent moderation from its overburdened Administrator. It makes me sad that Jeff has said a few times that this board is second only to Politics in terms of the work he has to do to remove offending posts. It would be great for everyone if we had more civil discussion here.

His assumptions based on his analysis was wrong. It’s not snipping. It’s called checks and balances.

No one ever remembers the runner-ups. Win big or go home. VDA 06 and FCV 04 have lost their chances
