White supremacist and anti-LBGT graffiti at WJ

You'd think that area would be more diverse-minded but that is one of the few areas here where I hear racist language. During zoom school (a Bethesda school) in the middle of covid, the teacher was talking about American Indians and was flabbergasted when a young white girl commented that they're dirty :o Where are these children getting these ideas?

Is there some basis for assuming it is someone affiliated with WJ? The graffiti is also on the trolley trail. They are both right off the beltway so really anyone that wanted a quick hit would find these locations convenient. (Note there was a body dumped around the corner from WJ a couple of years ago—they pulled off the beltway, dumped the body off old gtown rd and then got back on the beltway.). You could get off the exit for old Georgetown coming off 270, drive right by WJ and then get back on the beltway at old gtown south of lone oak. If you cut up democracy into the wildwood neighborhood, you can also make a quick stop at the trolley trail and it only takes you about a half mile out of your way.

If I had to guess, my guess would be someone from outside the community who thought that racist and anti-lbgtq+ graffiti would be a good way to needle the supposedly liberal “woke” Bethesdans. The combo of the two sentiments together just seems sort of … rural? to me. Maybe I’m wrong.

This is actually a really harmful rumor and maybe you could stop spreading it? You are positing that white kid did a property crime in retaliation for physical violence. In this narrative, the white kids look like they are offering a proportional reponse, except that we have no evidence at all of any white kids being "jumped" by Black children. None. No police report, no early gossip about kids being beaten up.

So maybe you could stop?

Well if I had to guess it would be a student. There have been many similar events at W's that were also perpetrated by students so this stands to reason. If these schools were more diverse perhaps the students would have greater empathy for others and there would be fewer incidents like this

It's also not a proportional response, but a weak one done in anger. Proportional would be more violence.
