There are a few of us responding (shocker!). There are some very good private schools in the DC area, and even the mediocre ones are SO much better than APS.

Not sure. Have you spent time today researching this? And I’m not concerned if they have a PhD or not. There are many with bachelors and masters degrees with work experience in their fields. Much better than someone who majored in coloring. (I mean seriously, I remember reading that UMD requires a 2.5 gpa to major in education. Not impressive at all.)

My child went to a private school this year. I googled the teacher. Taught at an APS elementary school last year.

I can't imagine how you can call yourself a competent parent but remain afraid to go into a class of 20 eleven year olds and calling them thugs while participating in a year long anonymous smear campaign against teachers.

The irony is palpable. If you had put this much effort into being a parent, many of those issues would have been resolved.
