Where are the “Open Schools now” subs?!
So many were going to come help. I teach high school, and I don’t see you anywhere. |

Not OP but it’s every school system. We are asked to cover each other during the day and we have our own classes to teach because they can’t find subs to take the jobs. Don’t do it for the money. It doesn’t pay anything. This of this as volunteer work so kids can have some type of supervision. |

| The sub situation was very dire before covid. I am quite sure it is much worse now in every school system. I am recently retired and would be a super sub but I won't consider it due to covid safety reasons. I am vaccinated but just the petri dish dynamics of a school give me pause. Maybe later. Like next year. And retirees make the best subs, ask anybody. |

In Falls Church City it's $16 hr for teachers and $12 hr for paras. Tell me why anyone would want to sub for a para at that rate. |

| My old roommate is a teacher that left this year, and she’s been living off credit cards while trying to find another job. Pretty sure she’ll go back next year. I feel bad that she can’t find anything better. |
