Yeah, the only people I know that had GD were extremely fit and gained a normal, healthy amount of weight. |
|
I gained only 20 pounds for my 2 babies. I lost approximately 10 pounds during the first trimester, gained that weight back plus 5 in the second trimester. I didn’t even look pregnant until 7 months. My boys were both healthy 7-8 pounds. I also started at 120 pounds.
At 27 weeks, the baby weighs 2 pounds. +12 pounds doesn’t sound too bad. Many women may have cravings. I wished I was able to eat for 2. I had different forms of nausea throughout my entire pregnancy. Your wife sounds fine. I would stop nagging her. You only notice all this because you sound like you are home with her. |
| I’m surprised at all the replies. I bet the replies are skewed because it’s a man posting. If it was a woman, I’m sure the replies would be telling her she is going harm to her baby. OP, you’re right. This is not enough calories. I was 5’1” 120lbs before I got pregnant. I ate 1700-1800 calories a day. My OB said to bump it up to 2000 calories once I got into my second trimester. 1500 calories is not enough for any pregnant mom or most women who aren’t pregnant. Furthermore, her OB has said she needs to eat more. I would suggest she see a therapist. |
Unless OP is a troll or hovering her every move, he has no idea how many calories she eats per day. |
