I look forward to Harvard taking on Trump's DOJ in October. Describing the college's diversity plan as 'infected' says volumes but considering how the administration has used similar descriptive adjectives to describe other human beings, I shouldn't be surprised. |
| Great job by DOJ. Hope they get rid of AActions soon. |
| I really don't care, do u? |
Yes, i care about the equitable treatment of all applicants....what sort of mindless imbecile wouldn't? |
Don't be too gleeful. That includes white women, rural poor whites who typically would not have an opportunity to attend someplace like Harvard, Penn, Yale, etc. Be careful what you wish for because your voice will be the loudest if, no when, it impacts whites. |
I will take my chances |
| It always feels a bit odd to me when journalists mistake the mere filing of a brief with "news." I don't think anyone is surprised by DOJ's position. |
It's not you who's poor and rural. |
the main focus is race not SES/geographical differences. You are misrepresenting the case. |
You do not understand Affirmative Action. There are many tenets under that umbrella. You can't cherry pick what parts of Affirmative Action you like. All or none. |

it's pretty clear this is about race based admission |

YES!
Finally. A good step forward. It doesn't mean they'll win the trial, though. Let's keep up the pressure. |
| It's probably the only thing I support that this admin has done (or at least trying). |
Not really - let's just say this is a sign that the DOJ is still independent from the White House
I can't imagine the good people in the latter feeling the slightest sympathy towards non-white people. |
