Update on Harvard Lawsuit

The same Harvard that bans students from campus activities based on your membership in off-campus organizations:

They use a disproportionate impact analysis to claim that the facially race-neutral personality scores discriminate against Asian-Americans, even though the Trump DOJ argues that the same analytical technique cannot be used to demonstrate discrimination against African-Americans and Latinos. It just provides more evidence that the Trumpsters are intent on excluding as many African-Americans and Latinos and Native Americans from elite institutions as they can. It pretty much boils down to why the darker races should be able to go to Harvard when they would never accept the Donald or his children and the Kushners had to pay millions to get Jared in.

Ok I could possible buy the anti-black stance, but you really think Trump's administration has it out for Native Americans? It's 0.9% of the population. What fringe group will they target next? Bahai' followers? Maltese?

Has nothing to do with "darker". A whole lot of Indians and South Asians would do very well under a revised system.

The head moron thinks clean coal is coal that has been cleaned. Don’t expect intelligence to guide anything this administration undertakes.

DOJ states that discrimination against Asian Americans favors whites, too. This is not about DOJ wanting to stick it to dark skinned people.

"The record evidence demonstrates that Harvard's race-based admissions process significantly disadvantages Asian-American applicants compared to applicants of other racial groups -- including both white applicants and applicants from other racial minority groups," the Justice Department said in court papers Thursday.

The U.S. sn't even a litigant. Court will give it the weight it deserves (i.e., not much).

Funny - DOJ and DOE haven't chosen to bring a claim under Title VI.

Harvard counts values of Applicants into mix. How is that AA?

True example my elderly neighbor across street on Tuesday fell and ambulence and police showed up. My wife and kids went over help and my neighbor also. We offered to check mail, get groceries help out while wife in hospital. Husband is an elderly Vet whose kids live out of state.

The two Chinese family with kids radio silence. Violin, Piano, Clubs at school, volunteer activity that will look good on college application interest them. No credit they don't get involved.

So Harvard looks a bit deeper at application to find empathic kind people who are good citizens but those metrics are letting in better people but folks who may have slightly lower GPAs. How is it racist. My Chinese neighbor kids could have helped and put it in college essay.

umm.. ok, so if a black person doesn't help out the community it's still ok for them to get affirmative action?

Your post itself is racist. I'm Asian American, and I have helped out my elderly white neighbors, shovel their snow, etc.. while the young fit white guy on our block did nothing to help them out.

Your anecdotal stories are ridiculous.

Here's mine: a white R just threatened to kill members of the free press, therefore all white Rs are crazy and a danger to society. All white R men should have their gun taken away. See how ridiculous anecdotal stories that lead to generalizations seem?

It is really crappy that you think being neighborly is something that should be put on college apps to give you an edge.

That's all the kids have to tout, maybe? Maybe the kids have just so-so intelligence, grades and work ethic.

How dare anyone look at intelligence and not neighborliness as a measure for an academic program.
