| I am re watching Nurse Jackie for the 3rd time or so over the years and I can never get past the fact that no one at her place of employment knows she's married or has kids yet she's been there 20 years. I am a nurse so I know how intimately we all get to know each other and even the hard ass outsiders we gather the basic facts from over the years. Plus she has a 7 and 9 year old so if she's been there 20 years they would remember her being pregnant. She has a long term affair with the pharmacist who's apparently been there 10 years but he never knew she was pregnant/know she's married with kids. Its just a very unrealistic aspect of a fairly realistic show! What are some plot holes of your favorite series? |
| Dawson's Creek---they establish Eve as Jen's long lost sister and then never have her reappear. |

I couldn’t ever wrap my head around the plot holes in Scandal, because they were so full of holes. Whenever there was a flashback, it bugged me because it was revealing “new” information. But plenty of people may have known that information earlier...so it wasn’t really new info (just new info to us). And maybe some character’s earlier motivations should have reflected that they did know that info all along.
I’m thinking Cyrus and B613 or whatever. Or the people who knew about the vote stealing. Etc etc. |
| MASH. Historical events were out of order and characters wives names, family and hometowns kept changing. Not to mention the outdoor/outdoor set and the indoor/outdoor set. |
Mash lasted longer than the Korea conflict. The things you mentioned are more continuity issues than plot holes. |
|
How I Met Your Mother, in one of the Star Wars flash forward episodes Ted was holding a baby and wearing a ring, but he and the mother weren’t yet married when she had their first child.
Although I guess this could be a continuity thing more than a plot hole. |
| I'm watching ER and they set Doug Ross up as having an 8 year-old son that he never sees, and then don't mention it again for several seasons after making it this whole big thing that explains what kind of man he is in the pilot and opening episodes. |
| Haddie on Parenthood goes off to college and is virtually never mentioned again (despite several major plots revolving around her in the first seasons) like she's dropped off the face of the Earth. Then she resurfaces in the series finale. |
|
In Happy Days, Richie had an older brother in the first season who went off to college. He was mentioned occasionally in the first season or two, then just disappeared as though he had never even existed.
|
| Dexter became a joke sometime in season 4 when joey started suspecting dexter was a killer, then dexter set him up but joey forgot about all his suspicions because dexter helped him get out of the setup. ridiculous. It really went downhill from there. |
| There was another sibling in Family Matters—a little sister. She disappeared!! |
Col. Potter’s wife was Mildred, Radar’s from Ottumwa and had an Uncle Ed, Klinger was from Toledo, divorced once, twice married, Margaret was an army brat who married and divorced to Donald penobscot, pierce was from crabapple cove, Charles was from Boston, bj’s wife was peg and his kid was Erin, frank’s wife was Louise. I don’t remember Henry’s wife was Lorraine. I think his character was the only one who’s wife originally went by a different name in season 1. |
I loved Haddie. Really missed her character! |
The actress's parents wanted more money, so Judy went up the stairs and never came back! |
There was something that changed about Hawkeyes dad but I can’t remember now. Maybe his name or his profession? Or maybe whether his mom was alive? Or maybe it’s where crabapple cove was located? |
