Comstock vs. Wexton - Who are you voting for?

Anonymous
I voted for Comstock the last two elections, but probably going to vote for Wexton this year. I don't like how Comstock has pinned herself so close to Trump and Corey Stewart. In 2016, she was much more vocal in calling out Trump's antics and disavowing him after the p**sy tape.

I generally support voting for a candidate, rather than a party. However . . .

In this case, the GOP controlled congress has utterly abdicated its responsibility to provide a check on Trump. The Devin Nunes-led "investigation" is a joke, and actually intended to fulfill the opposite purpose (provide cover for Trump). It doesn't matter how much Comstock personally disavows Trump (and I agree she hasn't done enough) - a vote for her is a vote for Kevin McCarthy/Steve Scalise/Jim Jordan as Speaker, and to refuse to provide any sort of check on Trump.

Wexton seems smart and talented and honest. Comstock is an NRA tool and a Trump lover (who only distanced herself from him come election time). She has a district of federal employees and many think Comstock hasn't done enough to stick up for the in Trump government hating environment.

Wexton. No brainer.

Wexton.

Comstock only distances herself from Trump around election time.

I've seen zero change from her and I don't like how she won't hold any town halls.

I was at the Leesburg Fourth of July parade and saw a ton of people grabbing the Dump Comstock stickers from the volunteers who walked through the crowd simultaneously with Comstock and her people. The cheers for Wexton were overwhelming when she came in the parade so it gives me hope she'll defeat her this fall.

+1 Time for a change.

Wexton - and I voted for Comstock last year. No more votes for Republicans until they clean up their acts and stand up against the mess in the White House.

Sorry - I should have said last election, not last year. I know someone will correct me.

Did you also vote for Trump?

Wexton, because she's NOT Comstock

Comstock is so vile.

Comstock only won last time (and just barely) because the person running against her wasn't a good candidate. I'd be shocked if she were re-elected.

Wexton, hands down.

Comstock is out of step with all but maybe the most hard-right of her constituency in Winchester. I appreciate her community involvement and I don't think she is a bad person, but her alignment with THESE Republican priorities, especially her vote for the irresponsible tax cut, were deal breakers for me.
