Why aren't republicans funny?

Not moderate conservatives. I'm talking about those angry Fox-news Republicans like Glenn Beck, or people like Rush Limbaugh.

Forget about being politically different from me. They are just never funny. They never ever say anything funny. I think being a hardline Republican must kill your funny bone or something.

It used to be the opposite and Democrats didn't seem to have a sense of humor. I guess it's hard to be funny when you are convinced the country is being led by a foreign-born Manchurian Islamic Nazi who is going to raise your taxes. But, to be fair, this tweet by Glenn Beck after Obama won the Nobel was kind of funny:

OP, such a ridiculous generalization. There are funny people on both sides and not funny people on both sides. Just like there are smart people on both sides and ignorant people on both sides and thoughtful people on both sides and kneejerk reactionaries on both sides.

I have not heard the term "reactionary" in a while. My father used to use it (we're going back 50 years here), but the whole political spectrum has changed so much that I'm not sure what it means nowadays, especially when you say they exist on both sides. The term makes me think of someone like Michelle Bachmann; does she fit your idea? I don't know who I'd come up with on the left; any suggestions?

I love Rush-he is smart, funny and says it plainly. Usually people who don't like him don't listen so they have no idea what he says on his show and are just so liberal that nothing he says would resonate.

So he's not a racist, but half the NFL won't play on a team he co-owns. And the owners won't touch him either. I'm pretty sure there are enough Republican owners. There are probably even a few pill popping owners. So what's left but racist?

ok, find me a racist quote then. guy has been on the air for 20 years. must be something he said that is racist. something like calling a well known black commentator a house n_____. oh right, that wasn't Rush.

NFL caved to politics. nothing to do with race, other than most blacks vote democrat since the democrats keep the cult of victimization alive and the govt money train steaming ahead - all at a tremendous long-term disservice to the black community.

If we are talking only about the ones who are talk-radio or faux-news people, then the answer is, because they have no soul. They sold it for money.
