Anyone else totally into JCREW?

I love it. I am nearing 40 but I still love their clothes.

I am 24 and find their clothes to be stuffy. I think they are more for the older set...

i like their stuff. though a very generous friend gave me a $200 gift card months ago and I still haven't bought anything!

(and yeah, i'm 37, so i guess i'm part of the "older crowd." )

26 and love it, but yeah a bit stuffy, and I notice alot of older women wearing it now. (no offense)

Not so much recently, mostly because so much of their stuff seems too delicate for being around my toddler and suffering through the laundry (I don't spend much on dry cleaning). I've been yearning for some of their well-constructed updated classics.

None taken. For a mom with two kids who is near 40 but likes to dress well but not too young, it is perfect. Cardigans, cashmere sweaters, boots, jeans, fun shirts, cords, etc. I surprised that mid-20s finds it stuffy though, as I wore Jcrew all through college and my 20s. I loved their work clothes when I was working outside the home.

Not since 1994.

I'm 36 and find their clothes... inoffensive. Depending on what you're looking for, sometimes that fits the bill. (I'm busy and poor these days, so I've become a lot less concerned with aesthetic expression and simply need to be respectably dressed, so I can appreciate that sometimes you just want to replace the jacket that tore last week and turn to the standby store to get a @#$%$ new jacket already. Sometimes there are bonus points for convenient internet ordering.) That said, I find J Crew low on individuality and edge.

I think they're boring. Where's the color?

Where do 24 year olds shop?

I love it, but then again I'm 43... Stuffy? Compared to a lot of the plunging-neckline stuff out there, that's probably true, but certainly not compared to Talbots, Ann Taylor, etc. I especially like the tops--often a little fragile, yes, but I usually buy them on sale and consider them essentially disposable after a season.

I feel like a better word for J Crew is preppy. "Stuffy" is how I describe Ann Taylor, Talbots, and St John suits.

I'm 29 and I love it, but I'm getting a bit turned off because of the Michelle Obama copy cats (older ladies). I feel they are turning the brand from young, preppy, and fresh, to...I don't know--not that.

I never understood the hype. I am 42 and find their clothes boring and frankly, poor quality and over-priced. I would wear their stuff to work on casual days - it would fit the bill perfectly, but I can get similar items elsewhere for much less. I would define their clothing as classic casual.

Oh I disagree. I think their quality is very good. I've stocked up on their cashmere sweaters over the years and they wear wonderfully if cared for properly.
