Looks like NOVA won Amazon HQ

Anonymous
Word has it from 2 employees that they bought 100 acres near CTI building off Dulles Toll Road

Might just be for a distribution center. They have NO distribution center in NOVA, a lot of Prime orders have to come from Baltimore or Petersburg, neither of which is close to NOVA, even without traffic. Throw in typical beltway or I-95 VA traffic, and it's a nightmare getting orders on time in NOVA.

If this is true, it is FCPS worst nightmare.

Darn, I guess Arlington housing going down the drain, as economics gravity of region shifts further west

Looks like it’s happening. Hardly surprising. It wound almost be negligent not to put it in nova.

That’s ridiculous. Arlington housing will continue to soar.

Estimates indicate that it will eventually bring 500,000 people to the region.

I’ve heard the exact same rumor about another city.

Let's assume OP didn't make this up entirely. What makes you think these employees are in the know? I assume there is a pretty narrow group of people who know the decision, assuming one has even been made.

Kind of crazy that people are taking an anonymous posting about a report from unnamed employees as worth anything.

Who is taking this seriously? Nobody, that's who.

The CIT site (not CTI) is not a warehouse site. It will be office, whether Amazon or someone else takes it. It was one of the sites Amazon toured and the state said they would give it to Amazon for free to locate there in an article. https://www.bizjournals.com/washington/news/2017/10/09/loudoun-fairfax-will-pitch-cit-site-for.html

Amazon does have a fulfillment warehouse in Dulles. Its not that big though.

The CIT site has always been my pick if they come to this region. Its on the metro but a large blank campus and is near the airport as well as a couple office buildings they already occupy, one they just moved into within the past year. Its also near Sterling which has ample room for additional warehousing if they want it. They clearly like the location based on their history. That doesn't mean the rumor is true though.
