Epstein Files

Kids driven to suicide online because of inappropriate pics they sent. We read of it frequently. Churches, schools, etc. Epstein is just the image of it--but it is far, far reaching.

But, people need to understand. There are a lot of fake reports. This one about the girl giving birth to a baby delivered by a group of men? Really? This is a distraction from the real problem.

Indeed, there is an old, locked thread in this forum documenting all the right wingers and men of the cloth who have been charged.

Certainly not limited to right wingers.

True, but it is *not* an even distribution.

But now, it is all a democratic hoax.

Make it make sense.

That’s why this is still such a big story. None of it makes sense. If Epstein was convinced on trafficking underage girls (and Maxwell was a co-conspirator) there must be counterparties (ie the people the “sold” the girls to) that are known. I mean yes, Prince Andrew - but he could not be the only known client. Also, why on earth has Harvard not fired Summers yet?? At the very least his emails show a lack of judgement for a Full Professor!

Well, the actual charges only involved services provided to Epstein. “the client list” is still a figment of imagination. Given how they went after Maxwell I can only believe they would have also gone after anyone else documented to have participated. We’ll see.

You do not know that. You just think you do. Epstein was a Democrat.

Ultimately, what the Epstein case has demonstrated is how weak and pathetic the judicial branch is in the US. Judges, Justice Department, DAs - scum like Alexander Acosta - have all demonstrated how easily they are warped and paid for by rich men.

It's a travesty. We are a Banana Republic these days. And there is no recourse in the legal system. Because from the Supreme Court and on down, we have partisan and greedy hacks deciding law.

There have always been scummy lawyers. It used to be background noise. But scummy lawyers are running the show these days.

It's a big problem when the judicial system has no legitimacy anymore.

It's not like any of the people involved from other countries have borne any consequences.

I know what you're saying, but it's surprising to me that these other countries who aren't bound by the awful NPA haven't done anything. It is an international scandal after all. Where are the Eastern Europeans?

I spoke with a longtime AUSA about this--retired now.

A prosecutor will generally not charge a case he cannot win. You must have evidence--not just evidence, but really, you need proof.

If the victims refused to testify, it would be difficult to get a conviction. Did they refuse? Were they compromised by payoffs?

There are a lot of cases prosecutors feel have guilty perps--but do not prosecute because they do not have a solid case. They have to concentrate on cases that will result in conviction.

I doubt Acosta was paid off.

Notice they met after 1984?

Maxwell should get the Guantanamo treatment until she’s near dead, and only when she squeals like a piggy and provides names, video, audio will she be spared to spend her life in prison for the purpose of continued evidence.

I suspect the victims were tricked into believing they cannot testify due to having signed NDAs or received settlements. Those absolutely do not bind anyone in the event of criminal activity and that needs to be made very clear and be heard by the victims. The harder part is in protecting the victims from potential reprisals or dealing with whether they may have received threats. As long as Trump is in power that is a specter that will hang over everything.

Trump was not in power when Epstein was initially charged by Acosta. He was not in power from Jan 2021-Jan 2025, either. Epstein was jailed during the Trump administration.

Acosta only lightly pursued the prospect of prosecution.

Bottom-line, the system failed to seek justice for hundreds of women, while demonstrating reluctance to hold powerful men accountable for their 'partying.'

And so far that is still happening with the current release -- or lack thereof-- the files.
