| I get up at 5:30am, and I have my first coffee with vanilla soy milk at 6am. I have my 2nd one at 7:30am. I have a banana at 8am. I have a smoothie at 10:30am. Which one is considered breakfast? |
| Some would say your first coffee. I would say the banana. Although maybe coffee, since your soy milk adds calories. Breakfast just means "break (your night time) fast. |
| It doesn't matter. |
So meta |
| Since you are "breaking the fast" with the coffee and milk- that would be it. This would also be true with any types of religious fasting. |

OP here. I always wonder what people mean when they say they eat "an egg and some xxx for breakfast." I mean, is that all at once? The minute you get up, or 3 hours later? Do you eat it at work or do you sit down at the table at home?
I eat everything separately, as above in the original post, and it lasts all morning long. Tehn, my lunch is a salad from 1:30-2. My dinner is a small whatever at about 7. I eat a snack such as an apple around 5pm. So how do folks define their meals when they discuss on here what they eat to stay healthy? |
| Tehn? |
Gee, Einstein, what do you think she meant that word to be? |
Oh for god sakes, you know what breakfast is. It's not dinner and it's not lunch, it's that early morning food you eat. |
+1 Give it up Op. You're splitting hairs. ...and stop drinking your calories with a 1030am smoothie if you're trying to lose weight for starters. |
| I am failing to understand the point of this post. |
That is 2 of us!!! |
|
I have a three-part breakfast. Protein shake right after the workout. Oatmeal or grits with chia when I get to work. Greek yogurt with berries mixed in maybe half an hour later.
They're all breakfast. |
| OP here. That makes sense. I guess i have a 5-hour breakfast, 6am -11am. I would never be able to do that intermittent fasting routine. I eat from 6am til about 8pm. |
| Stop drinking a yogurt and fruit and spinach smoothie? Why? |
