| I am wondering if Melanie’s dress is a pale apricot? Can’t figure out the material of the belt though. Her dress is understated and I think it’s appropriate. The key is not to upstage the bride. |

Better makeup and hair might do her a world of good. What happens to this type of woman’s face if she just decides to stop with all the surgery and treatments? Can she somehow age more normally? Is her face permanently so distorted? Examples please. |

Ok well, before I discuss them so frivolously, obligatory note about how DJT is the greatest threat to american democracy ever, DJTJ is a misogynistic dbag and Ivanka and Melania are complicit spineless leeches. Lara, Eric and KG are all similar but somehow seem lesser. I saw a tweet that said a lot of Tiffany's friends hate him and there were quiet gasps of elation when Nevada was called during the reception.
That said: Kimberly: looks like the witch coming to sleeping beauty's baby shower. YIKES. And I know she's engaged to DJTJ but this feels like a photo she should have declined to be in Lara: This is an awful dress, it would have been better if she had posed with her hands outside the cape though. It looks much better below. But still, posing with a dress with a giant V over your vagina is a very questionable choice. 
Ivanka: I feel like this dress basically sums her up as a human, bland but beautiful. Copying a better and more elegant woman who came before but not pulling it off entirely. She is in the uncanny valley. She looks right, but you can just tell looking at her that she is not the person she wants us to believe she is, and it just leeches out. So while I think I would like this just fine on someone else, on her it is unmemorable and vaguely off putting. I think all THREE of them chose dresses that had the potential to outshine the bride and were therefore big faux pas(s). Marla looks wonderful, like she is aging gracefully, she matched the palette and was very stylish but she was understated. Melania I agree it wasn't that great a dress. But it was inoffensive and she ensured that the bride and the MOTB would look better than her. I think when you are the much younger next wife/stepmom/model and you show up to this event, choosing a dress that is 'kind of a miss but not so much a miss as to draw attention' is probably a direct hit. She's ensured she's an afterthought here, which is appropriate. Kimberly could take some notes! |

| Oh I'm PP. I actually loved Tiffany's dress, she looked wonderful at all the events. I hope now that she got her wedding paid for she will go back to backing out of the family apparatus. |

Is there any evidence at all that Tiffany was backing away from this family? Publicly, at least, she has always supported her father. She spoke for him at the Republican conventions. She publicly appeared with him as president. She wasn’t AS involved, but she was involved and seemed to show no regret. |

I can find some tutorials for how to dye coffee filters if you want to make your own at home. It would probably look better. |

I need someone smarter than me to do an analysis. How does this dress look so amazing on Grace Kelly and so meh on Vanky? Is it the boning in Ivanka’s? The way Vanky Carrie’s herself? Ivanka is a beautiful woman with a beautiful figure, how does this uncanny valley effect, as the other poster put it, happen? Is it solely that she doesn’t know who she is? |

I think in her case it’s actual mental health problems. I mean that’s just a guess, but I think of some people who have been very close to me with various disorders and what would have happened to them if they had been around famous(-ish) people while they were spiraling up or down and in the limelight to some extent and what kind of decisions they would make. So I feel some sympathy for BatWings McGee and her teeny tiny necktie shoes. The rest of those people should go examine their lives and what they mean to the world and act accordingly. I have no sympathy for the unexamined life. Oh and Lil Ivana’s Florida Christmas elf costume is perfect her up front and then exhibitionist kink clown in the back. I guess it’s perfect for her. |

It’s the material and the fit. I’m not familiar enough with dressmaking/fabric terms, but the original dress seems like it was made of a thicker/richer material (maybe silk and chiffon) and lined properly. The knock-off, for example, had a sheer bodice with visible boning and the skirt didn’t have a proper slip/crinoline so it clung to her crotch. The neckline/bodice on the knock-off wasn’t tailored as well to Ivanka. Breast size might have has something to do with that, but Ivanka didn’t look disproportionately larger in the bust than she usually does. The knock off is also ankle length and the hem is raggedy, the original was floor length. Also, Grace Kelly is Grace Kelly, and Ivanka is no Grace Kelly. And the shoes. |
