+1 You are fooling no one. |
You definitely are unfamiliar with old money. |
+1. Go to some open houses on the Philadelphia Main Line. This isn’t about Boomers, it’s about a culture and relationship to money and experience that some PPs can’t pick up on. It’s not a tasteless Boomer house, it’s an aesthetic that goes beyond that generation, but a lot of outsiders do not pick up on the nuance. |
A lot of these comments don’t apply in a mixed race or mixed ethnicity grouping. |
You're right, us oldsters understand that when you rely on electronic books that they can be removed or changed without your consent. We also know that research shows that reading a physical book leads to greater comprehension and retention. |
Princess Charlotte? Queen Charlotte? |
Guess my mold allergies have doomed me to a low class life. My trees are pretty to look at, though. |
Right. All of the middle class plebs are naming their child Charlotte because it’s a trend started by the royal family. Besides the fact that Charlotte is a family name for the royal family and it is NOT a family name for 99% of Americans who name their daughter Charlotte. |
Yep. It’s why lower and middle classes always want a new kitchen and bathrooms. They have furniture from ikea but must have the latest trends in kitchen and baths. Not sure what’s driving it but trendy kitchen and baths are definitely a middle class thing. |
Resurrected dead thread from 2019 for this |
+1. Resigns and relents when updates are necessary, jokingly saying I guess this is what people are doing now .... Or, if historical home, remodels in period fashion, so it looks the same before and after. |
PP and having an available physician who can diagnose, treat and prescribe meds for an ongoing or seasonal malady is a class thing - LMC and above. The fact that you have insurance and easy access to low cost med refills is a benefit available to LMC/working class and above. There’s certainly a correlation between diagnoses/meds and higher income demographics. So you could check medicine cabinets! Who has EpiPens/inhalers/CGM/an array of rx meds for ADHD/depression/anxiety and who has just otc meds only and maybe a few bottles of expired rx meds from a long ago ER visit. |
NP. Lady, you are nuts. |
I think she’s kidding about checking the cabinets. She’s spot on about the meds. |
Somehow I don’t think so. But if “a medicine cabinet full of anti-psychotics means I’m high class” is how she gets through the day, more power to her ![]() |
