Why do you dislike law enforcement?

No wonder Democrats struggle to relate to real people.

Do “real people” support police brutality? I know a lot of white people do but I wasn’t aware that made them more “real” (just real afraid).

The threshold for justified deadly force is reasonable belief that the suspect poses an imminent threat of death or serious bodily harm to themselves or others.

There is nothing that says a suspect must gave a gun.

You’re reasoning with someone who simply wants to hate cops. The simple fact they claim Washington Post statistics are erroneously low… and they do so without any proof to back that claim up… is proof that you can’t logically converse with them.

Looney tunes.

There is no truth to this.

Hello donut-muncher. Are you on duty when you rage on this site?

You are not a good example if you are trying to win hearts and minds.

Should the non-LEO public use the same definition when confronted by bad LEOs?

Most cops are completely inept with firearms.

If you are removed from your car they will find it on you. I recommend you tell them. If they see it in plain view in your car with you in it you better have both hands on the steering wheel.

For sure you have to be very careful around police. They have immunity to kill on site if they feel threatened in the least.

Best to never escalate a situation by telling a cop you have a firearm. If pulled over, be sure it is out of sight.

They do not have immunity to kill on sight. Do not spread lies. People who don’t know how to research or fact check tend to believe everything they hear.

This is why people think police kill tend of thousands of unarmed people a year, because people simply throw lies around.

Trying to say tens of thousands? No, it's usually just between 1000 to 1400 on average that die from police involved shootings. Around 2000-3000 annually are shot that don't prove fatal.

Moot points though. The most dangerous situation with another human that most people ever experience, outside of the military, is when they are involved in a police Terry stop or arrest attempt.

And of those 1000 to 1400 who die from police-involved shootings? Only 20-40 each year are unarmed.

That’s 20-40 in a nation of almost 400,000,000.

But studies done between 2019 and now show that public perception is that thousands of unarmed people die each year at the hands of the police. It simply isn’t true.

Really trying to justify those homicides aren't you?

Only if they have a good life insurance policy.

This person shot by a police officer falls into the odd group you chose to defend above, while also suggesting that officers like the one in this video be charged with a crime.

Did I get that right?

I suspect most of us understand the pressures officers face in situations like these. We know they don’t want these encounters to happen. Most of us also want officers to go home to their families and we feel they should have the right to defend themselves.

The few who disagree can’t be reasoned with.

If you have a firearm, and I hope you have a license for it, you are required to tell them. Telling them de-escalates the situation. Police do not have any immunity to kill anyone.

I support police using whatever force is necessary.

+1

People here have no understanding of the force continuum. They also choose to Monday morning quarterback through a biased lens from the comfort of their home.

Stick to topics you might know something about. This is obviously not one of them. Laws vary widely, and hardly anywhere requires a loisence mate.
