No, WE are NOT the monsters. Let's just be clear here. And yes, he and MCPS administrators who silently allowed his behavior to continue and promoted him should be blasted all over the media. Silence is not the answer despite how much he or MCPS wants it to be.

Yes you are! He isn’t the president. He is a principal like thousands of other people. Let it go! The damage is done.

You mean did HE think of his children? This is on him. His choice to victimize dozens of adults AND hundreds of children. His family can move away. The repercussions of HIS assaults are going to last for years.

Since when did harassment become assaults. Stop reaching for the extreme.

The man gave up his right of privacy when he committed these acts AND also responded to the allegations in the article.

oh please! That doesn’t mean you drag him all over social media for his kids to be humiliated. Social media gives less attention to pedophiles, murderers, and rapist.

And so the excuse-making continues. No wonder the guy allegedly got away with harassing colleagues and bad-mouthing kids so long.

So find a new job. These aren’t children we are talking about here. Let it go people. The witch hunt is over. Imagine if all the wrong you did was made public for your children to see. What goes around comes around.

Stop. It is unfathomable that people would refrain from demanding answers from the BoE and MCPS Administration just because this guy might be embarrassed that his (flagrant, offensive, illegal) wrongdoing would be highlighted.

Yes, I feel for his children, but I feel for them because their father didn't think about them before sending 500 unwanted sext messages to a subordinate. Not because people found out.

Stop pretending like the wrong he did is normal everyday stuff that we all regularly see on the job. Besides, more than half the stuff you see on the media is blasting MCPS for sweeping his despicable behavior under the rug and then promoting him.

Harassment is against the law!!! He is a criminal! And he wasn’t thinking of any consequences when he did this… personally or professionally.

This man is being publicly humiliated for the same actions millions of men in leadership have done. Is it right? NO
It isn’t about making it go away, it’s about stop the public shaming and let justice take its course. So what makes it ok for the media to run this story in the ground and blast him all over media for his children to be humiliated, degraded and embarrassed. Give the same attention to murderers and pedophiles.

I think any family members were humiliated by the texts quoted in the first article. Actions have consequences.

If "millions of men in leadership" have gotten drunk and propositioned their direct reports in public, then they deserve to be named and shamed as well.

The point is that MCPS knew about these abuses and didn't act until the media put them on blast. Telling people to stop covering the story is effectively telling them to sit down and shut up because men will get away with anything.

Again, the person who harmed this family is the perpetrator, not the people who brought light to his abuse.

You, just like MCPS administrators, are literally asking us to keep quiet just like they've been wanting the victims to for years. You do realize that if it weren't for the media, this would never have come to light.

Then why exact same response from MCPS?

Cover up, deny, Ignore.

Todd Watkins stole over a million. But stealing from children is acceptable just like sexually harassing them is acceptable.
