Luxury white SUV as status marker

This is a funny trend I’ve noticed in my office and I’m wondering if other people notice it too. Every obnoxious wealthy woman above 40 in my office (sales environment) drives a massive white Mercedes, Audi, or Range Rover. I am talking about ~15 people, not 2 or 3. Most of them have no kids or one kid. I have no problem with white cars and no problem with these women, but these cars just seem like very silly status markers trying to make a statement about their money.

Ok, I realized after I pressed submit that this part might sound off. I think the way they show off their wealth is obnoxious, but I am friends with several of them.

Sometimes it’s just a car. Many of my friends have white kitchens with white marble countertops that spillover to the floor and backsplashes. I hate it but I don’t judge them for it. I love my 2018 Audi Q7. But it’s black.

I have this car but kept my 15 year old Honda too - trying to impress no one. Needed a reliable car to haul my one kid plus many DC friends to sports and business associates around town.

I had a navy blue Volvo SUV, Toyota Black SUV and I want a change. I like the white Mercedes and am planning on buying one next month. I think its a nice car and it drives well. Has nothing to do with a status symbol I want a nice SUV. WHat is your problem?

Xanax abusing wine drunks who go home and brainwash themselves with Kardashian and Real Housewives garbage (who drive, you guessed it, tacky white luxury SUVs).

Must be a DC thing. Here in Los Angeles, SUVs are for mothers. You haven't arrived unless you are driving a Tesla.

DC is backwoods. Manhattan/South Hampton is all Tesla all the time.
