I'm finally skinny.

You know how I do it? and maintain? I have one meal a day. Any meal I choose. Generally eat whatever I feel like having.

I've tried a million things for years and it's like, oh. If you don't eat much, you will lose the weight. That's the secret guys.

What was your start and end weight?

Do you drink coffee or alcohol?

What time is your meal?

One meal a day? one?

That's crazy.

Yes! Having an eating disorder will help you lose weight! Ground breaking stuff here OP.

I had a giant blueberry muffin for breakfast and I'm skinny too.

I like my way better.

I can't swing this type of lifestyle. I get a headache by 10 am and I will full on faint by 2pm if I haven't eaten. I just need food every few hours like clockwork. My husband can go all day and just eat dinner when he is busy and overworked and I just don't understand how his body can tolerate that! We are both normal weights so it's not like he has fat reserves to keep him going and I don't or vise versa.

Me too, OP. Most people eat far more food than is necessary. As we age our bodies need less but we like eating for other reasons.

So you starve yourself.

I hope you aren't doing permanent, irreversible damage to your health.

OP here. I drink coffee and wine. For a while I was v strict about this and ate ONE MEAL NO SNACKS but now that I am on month in and have gotten the general vibe of how my life and body works when I eat this way, I will give you the outline below. A lot of people on this forum have called what I do "intermittent fasting" I guess. But I'll tell you what I do.

I wake up and generally speaking I never eat breakfast anymore. I do drink coffee w whole milk. So I look at my day and basically figure out when I will be social, and that's the meal I eat. Usually its dinner bc I'm with my family. But I work full time and have lunches and breakfasts sometimes so I take that into consideration.

Then I go about my day. My hardest hump is 10-11am. But in reality, if I were to time that, I'd feel uncomfortable for about 15min. So I wait out that time and legit the rest of the day is a breeze. I come home and make dinner, we normally eat a protien, veg and whole grain. If I feel like a glass of wine I normally have two.

I don't do this if it affects me in anyway that's not related to feeling hungry. So if I I really feel awful for some reason, if I am sick, if doing this woud be weird socially, things like that. Then I will eat, obviously. But generally speaking I'm eating like this 90% of the time. And I can look at my week and know--oh ok on Saturday we're going to a BBQ so that will be my meal. Or--ok on Sunday we're doing brunch and dinner w friends so this week stick to your plan tight.

Doing this has freed up SO MUCH brain space bc I never thiink about what I should eat. I just don't eat until I do eat and then I eat what's there and what I feel like.

Oh and I drink insane amounts of water.

Oh OP again. I am 5'7, I was 163 and now I am 145. I am not scary skinny at all, about a size four.

Yes, yes, and yes. I am 5'5, weigh 120, 43 yo. Not scary skinny, not fainting with hunger. Four years in my body has adjusted beautifully. On days when I eat more than one meal I feel uncomfortable. I fast for 12 hours and then feel right as rain.

so when your family is eating dinner (and you've already had lunch, let's say), do you sit with them at the table and keep them company, or go to a different room? that would be hard for me!

I did the same thing and I think it makes great sense . I have coffee in the morning and make lunch my main meal. Maybe a tiny dinner portion if I’m really hungry

Agree it is so much easier to just not eat than to worry about healthy eating
