MOCO socialist council members trying to pay for lawyers to help criminal illegal immigrants to stay in the country with our taxes.
Now is time to vote in the next election to remove this leftist from power.

Deliberate avoidance of dealing with and even encouraging I llegal immigration is the one issue that turned me from a left leaning Centrist into a right leaning one. This is absolute insanity.

I'm a Democrat, a progressive activist, and someone who tries very hard to live my values through my career, individual choices, and participation in local government.

I think this is insane given the funding shortfalls in Montgomery County. I know we as parents always look to schools as an area that could be better funded, but even if we don't look at the paraprofessionals that could be hired with this money, there are plenty of other ways to support Montgomery County residents with these funds.

Agree on all counts. I'm reluctant associate myself with the . . . let's call in fervor of OP's post (though right-wing nutbaggery is closer to the mark), but I an unreservedly opposed to this proposal).

Then make sure you do not vote for any of them during the upcoming primary. they need to understand that that money can go to school,s HHS, rec department, programs for the elderly. So many more that need this.

Agreed. I don't see the Constitution giving criminal illegal immigrants the right to representation. That's a right given to citizens.

But it will pass in our county - bet on it. The Council doesn't really care what we think, they just vote for the most insane laws so that our county can be a poster child for liberalism. I am a Democrat but this county has gone nuts. And when my kids graduate, I am out of here along with my 6 figure MD tax payments (and I mean taxes not income).

It's a constitutional issue, yes illegals are allowed due process and the new justice Gorsuch is a literalist so he is not going to help you much.

If we didn't piss off Mexico they would have prevented so many illegals coming, but they have stopped with their effort to help the US.

Also, the # of people moving back to Mexico was greater than the # coming here... which is no longer true. Bummer!

Also, the previous administrations were deporting illegal criminals but the current administration is too busy with the border to do that.

+1 Doctors and lawyers can hire attorneys on their own dime and won't be eligible for these Montgomery County funds anyway. The truth is that this is going to be enormously unpopular, even with the Democratic rank and file.
