I'm planning a girls trip with a few of my friends from college. We're all so agreeable though it's hard to decide on a location! Everyone likes everywhere suggested!
So far, our top picks are Mexico City, Montreal, Sedona, Charleston and Curacao. Any thoughts on which would be most fun for a group of 5 ladies in their early 30s? We like hiking, good food, spas and culture and would love to have a mix of those things. We're looking at going during for a long weekend (3-4 nights) this fall. |
| Are you spread throughout the country? Otherwise for a short trip I'd pick something closer so you spend less time traveling. I think Sedona sounds nice for what you want and the travel to Phoenix is probably easier than Curacao and Mexico City. Montreal is a city so a bit different than your other options. |

We've done a girls trip to Montreal. It's a short, inexpensive flight from here and a lot of fun. There are some outdoors things to do such as the botanical gardens, but it is mostly cultural and food. We absolutely adored crepes and fruit for breakfast every day.
I've not been to Mexico City personally, but I know a lot of people who have problems with the smog. It wouldn't be high on my list. Sedona seems like it would hit a lot of your key interests, though "culture" there is significantly different than "culture" in some of your other places. For our next girls trip, we're looking at Iceland. Have you thought about that? It's a bit more expensive than some of your list but hits most of your interests in spades. |
We're all either in the DC area or Atlanta. |
oh .. also Las Vegas. There are outdoors trips, including the Grand Canyon, a reasonable distance from the city. Flights are generally cheap. Food .. well, take your pick. And there are a lot of good shows. And lots of shopping. We did just 2.5 days there, but if we'd wanted to add a 3rd day, we could have done a day trip to GC or Valley of Fire State Park / Lake Powell. |
| We have done Santa Barbara before and it was great! |

Vegas, Miami, Paris, nyc
I’m doing Scottsdale and Paris girls trips this year. I did Sedona, Vegas and Miami girl trips previously. |
| I do girls' trips with my adult DDs at least once a year and my oldest just had a business trip to Lisbon and she's suggested it for our next trip. We have done Nashville, Chicago, Ojai, Tulum, Amsterdam (that was a week) in the past - had fun at all |

i loved mexico city. the flight is not that far. can see ruins, wonderful museums, frida kahlo house.
sedona is beautiful too. if you want to sit outside and talk, maybe take a hike, it's a good choice. |
OP here. Thanks everyone for your opinions! We decided on Montreal. It sounds perfect! I looked at Iceland but it's a little expensive for some in our group...there are a couple of us who still have kids in daycare so we're on a budget! |
| i know i'm late, but Curacao is BEAUTIFUL! One of my favorite vacation spots. |
Check on the cost of flights to Canada. International taxes can drive up the fare. |
|
Nobody can have any sort of criminal record if you're going to Canada, fwiw.
|
| I might also consider Quebec City if you're considering Montreal. Quebec City is a little smaller (still definitely has a nightlife though) but is gorgeous, historic, and has less of that big skyscraper city feel. For hiking/outdoorsy stuff, Mont Royal is in Montreal and the Chute Montmorency is in Quebec City. |
Can I be friends with you?? |
