I fully believe it and posted about it last week. It’s a policy of chaos. They are all over the political thread and I notice some responses in regular parenting threads as well.

Are you saying dcum has Russian disinformation posters? I'm not saying that's as ludicrous as it sounds because it's reported they do plenty on Facebook in smaller groups, but I haven't seen it.

I've actually wondered if The Princess Party that posts incessantly here is not Russian powered.

Are you the one who has decided that DP means something other than what it has always meant? Because you prefer posting mean posts to nice ones so everyone else should too?

What would be the point? I’m very informed about the troll farms and disinformation but I don’t see the point here.

There really are people who think that royalty aren’t humans with human flaws and take offense to any insinuation that they are. It’s bizarre when their dysfunction is so clearly on display generation after generation.

DP. I take offense at the maliciousness. I guess that makes me a Princess Powerpuff Girl. Bubbles, probably.

Jeff has said before he had found no evidence of Russian disinformation agents posting on DCUM.

I'm sure he'd also say it's not impossible or unfathomable. Having sufficient evidence to prove something does not mean it isn't so.

It appears that, panicked by the level of backlash caused by the fraudulent Mother's Day photo, Kate has ordered a batch of bots to try to change the narrative.

Clearly, stating that the global backlash of the fake photo is a measure of Kate Middleton's influence is ridiculous, as most people, outside the UK and the Royal watchers, knew nothing or very little about her before all this drama.

The interest generated is mostly based on morbid curiosity, like when the world followed by the minute what was happening with the submersible Titan that exploded in the depth of the ocean last year.
The submersible Titan wasn't ''influential'', lol.

Buying bots to spread propaganda is the same type of tactic as doctoring a photo, it's presenting a false reality to the Public. That's something, like AFP said, reminds us of North Korea or Iran's regime propaganda.

But it's not the first time William and Kate were caught buying bots.
Back in 2020, the New York Time had already written an article about the out-of-control use of bots by William and Kate

Anonymous wrote:I don’t get it. If a coworker hard a procedure and took 2-3 months off for FMLA would you demand to know what happened and where they are? It’s pretty safe to assume she isn’t dead. If she were a normal person, she’d likely be out and about on errands and school runs by now. But she'd isn’t and can’t go anywhere without be hounded and having her picture on every front page. Therefore, to recovery, she quite literally has to go incognito.

If I received an email that a coworker was out for 2-3 months for a medical procedure, I would wish them well and demand nothing.

If a month later my coworkers husband was supposed to attend some event involving the company and he cancelled at the last minute with no explanation whatsoever except to say "don't worry, Jane is fine," I'd think that was weird but go back to work.

If a couple weeks after that, I received an "update" on Jane featuring a heavily photoshopped picture of her with her children, where her children were wearing clothes almost identical to my coworkers Christmas card from last year except for some changes that looked clearly faked via editing, and accompanied by an explanation that this photo had been taken days before by her husband, I'd be on Slack with my colleagues unpacking the whole thing and struggling to get work done because, uh, this is getting very strange.

If Jane then sent a follow up email stating that sometimes she gets overzealous with photoshop and apologizing for any controversy, but no other information, I'd continue to scratch my head and I feel certain my colleagues and I would be combing over these missives trying to figure out if there is some kind of hidden plea for help in them.

If the next day Jane's cousin posted a photo of Jane and her husband to Facebook, only the husband was fully visible and Jane was turned almost completely away from the camera staring at a brick wall, I'd immediately text my colleagues with "WFT is going on, should be be doing something to help Jane."

If a week later our boss came into the office and was like "oh you guys don't worry, I saw Jane and her husband at Foxtrot on Sunday buying specialty jams, she seemed fine," I'd say "I will believe Jane is fine when I see her thanks, but also what kind of jam, I love jam."

I mean, if you want it to be a real analogy.

This post is not normal.

Yes, the normal thing to do is to post 300 times that people need to please stop talking about the Princess of Wales on a thread about the Princess of Wales, when you could also just... not.

+1 She’s a (tax-funded) public figure. It’s not unreasonable for people to discuss what’s going on. Just exit the thread if it disturbs you so. GMAFB already.

And it's just really intriguing. It's like watching the show Succession, especially considering everything that has happened with Harry in the last few years, and everything The Crown revealed. I guess it's feels like the next season of The Crown. It's all deeply fascinating. I'm not a "royalist", I think it's absurd that England has never had a revolution and ousted these people, and my parents also immigrated from a former British colony (that was absolutely gutted by the monarchy). So of course I'm going to pay attention. And this thread is pretty good!

Same here (except for the British colony part). I've never posted on a royals thread before, but this cloak and dagger stuff is intriguing. Also intriguing are the people who want a Disney princess so they rationalize skeletal, dream about sheets, and who think Kate is reading 375 pages of posts from a bunch of Bethesda moms, so they keep bumping the thread with more posts.

It's like people watching x3

I'm inclined to think Kate's recovering from surgery, she's put on 10 pounds from steroids or a much less restrictive diet, and she doesn't want to go out win public because she thinks she looks puffy. Then KP made an own goal and stirred everything up. The domestic abuse people are way out there, but I don't blame them as much as I blame the Disney princess people who set the expectations Kate is hiding from.

Do you think there really are “Disney princess people” posting here? Is that your reality?

NP I agree with this poster entirely: Kate doesn't look her best, and not her best is not acceptable for women like her. There's a reason Victoria of Sweden was anorexic, Leticia of Spain is a starving skeleton, Diana, Jackie Kennedy had an ED...All of them face/faced immense scrutiny and pressure to model clothes perfectly and be smiling at all times. Had Diana or Jackie been even 20 lbs heavier, they would have not been icons. It is the very sad truth.

All very true! Which is why it's baffling to me that the thought maybe Kate is in the same boat and may have an ED is considered a conspiracy theory or "fantasy" by her rabidly fans. It's not even a criticism and seems more likely than not. Now I have no idea if that's even related to this absence, but to shoot down the thought on the spot and insist she is the picture of athleticism and health who isn't preoccupied with image seems so naive.

Sorry hon, that's just not true. The entire world knows who she is. She may not have QE2 level recognition - but give her time. She'll get there.

Well this is a little too spot on. See, 75% of previous posts from The Princess Party.

Do you honestly believe that? Jeff has deleted many of them but many remain. They're still right there, in this thread.

Maliciousness? You’re making up reasons to be offended. Until the worshipers came to this thread it was just people trying to come up with an explanation for the very weird deception of the photo. And most people said they were worried about her. But doing anything other than worshipping them as perfect, special beings has been “malicious “ to a few people.

Same. I'd say my pre-photo interest in the royals was mild and entirely for fun. I have long enjoyed looking at the fashion. But I barely followed the whole Harry and Meghan thing. To me it was on par with most celebrity gossip -- a way to pass the time in a waiting room or on a plane, can be fun to chat with friends about, but not something I take seriously or think about almost at all the rest of the time.

The photo incident really grabbed my attention because I can't remember the last time a high profile public person did something that strange, press wise. I don't buy most of the theories about it (she's not dead, why would they hide this, and the divorce/affair rumors are all pretty ridiculous-sounding) but I am very curious to find out how that screw up happened and think there might be some kind of underlying scandal. Thus watching and waiting to see what it is, if anything.

I used to feel the same until I saw all the attacks on MM for dating/marrying Harry. I then got interested in how racist and awful British media was. I read Spare and it definitely makes me take notice of how exact the descriptions are for what is going on. Harry never bad mouthed Camilla but did say she had the most cunning PR team at her disposal (compared to the other royals). It's true there is never a negative story about her. They also trade stories with the press (you can post this if you kill that). Kate's PR is either turning on her or letting someone with less smarts and more power call the shots. The photo wasn't just edited here and there or to switch prints, they put Kate's face in from a magazine cover she had been in, so that makes it a bit wilder than a few blurry bits.
