Biden’s economy

Inflation has been at or above 3% for 39 consecutive months now. While June CPI was a move in the right direction, elevated inflation in key categories makes inflation feel much higher. We've also now had over 3 years of compounding inflation.

Affordability is still getting worse

IOW, the griping at this point is corporate greed, not "inflation"

The rate has gone down a little, but it's still much more expensive than it was under Trump and it was escalated by Bidens policies. So you're spreading misinformation

Many still feel the pinch
https://www.cnbc.com/2024/07/08/inflation-walmart-chipotle-criticized-over-prices.html

Americans are still adding tons of consumer debt to deal with Biden's failed policies
https://www.marketplace.org/2024/07/09/americans-added-more-than-11-billion-of-consumer-debt-in-may/

inflation may be "cooling" but prices are still high, too many American's are in debt and feel the pinch at the register
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/food/2024/06/27/grocery-prices-inflation-still-too-high/74208920007/

Due to Biden's failed policies Amerians purchasing power is way down
https://www.bankrate.com/banking/federal-reserve/what-is-inflation/

Food pirces still went up 1.1%
https://seekingalpha.com/news/4123639-cpi-read-food-at-home-prices-rose-just-11-but-are-still-high-on-a-multi-year-comparison

But year over year since Biden took office there still sky-high.

So the Biden regime will try to spread misinformation and fake news, but the bottom line is year over year inflation has skyrocketed from Biden's failed policies and American's have less purchasing power and no savings.

Wait until they see the reports that come out in September and October.

August 2023 was a .6 and September a .4; those will drop out likely leading to a large decline in yearly inflation.

Since they come out right before the election I’m sure Trump will say they were manipulated or something. But a look at the stats makes it clear that a decline to the 2.2-2.5 range is in order by the October announcement. A basic analysis but they will scream that it’s fake.

+1 See the tweet in the post above, you can see the seasonal fluctuations.

This is really strong and good news.

And what is the GOP solution to ease inflation? What, in their platform, will address the problem?

I can tell you with specifics what Biden is doing and trying to do.

What is Trump's plan?

You can continue to complain that inflation is an issue and I wouldn't disagree. It is a global issue because it is a result of COVID and the supply chain issues that followed.

So what is Trump's plan?

as I was saying

Despite being blocked by the GOP at every turn, the Democrats work for the benefit of all Americans and they are actually able to realize some results.

Utilities too

11% growth year over year!

Thanks to Biden's failed policies the average American is defaulting or behind on utility bills

This is what they are mad about. Trump was happy with 1/3 of the nation working in low wage jobs. Biden has made significant progress on that front and the corporate interests are not pleased.

Now if Democrats can just get full control and significantly raise the immoral $7.25 federal minimum wage that still applies in many Republican led states.

But many of these low wage workers are working less hours… not by choice. My DD is a hostess and her hours have been drastically reduced. The restaurant doesn’t even staff a hostess at lunch, just dinner and frequently release her an hour early and the manager covers till closing. She went from 40+ hours a week to less than 30. She makes $1.50 more per hour. She was trying to get a 2nd part time job but no one is hiring

$7.25 minimum wage is insane, I earned more than that at my retail cashier job back in 1998

It's not as insane in places like Mississippi but yeah, the point stands.

Are you really making the case that low wage part time jobs are hard to find? These jobs are plentiful, hiring signs everywhere, lots of people have moved up to better paying jobs after the COVID recovery and places can’t staff. My cousin owns a restaurant and they cut opening hours back because they can’t staff these low wage jobs. He also doesn’t staff the hostess position during slow times because he can’t find any at those low restaurant wages.

Thanks to the Infrastructure Act that the GOP uniformly opposed

Yes, signs exist. But for very limited hours. My daughter applied at a retail store that wanted her to work on Wednesday from 4-7. That’s it. New restaurant opened up and she was told they need her Fri and sat from 5-8. That’s it. So yes, the jobs exist if you are ok working a few hours a week. Same with a morning hostess. If traffic is slow, then why pay someone $17 an hour when a manager can handle it. So yes, your cousin cut hours because he can’t find someone. To work for a couple hours a day. That won’t pay bills.

Too bad Trump ran up a record deficit during his administration. Definitely don’t want four more years of that.
