Arkansas.

These honestly sound like Onion polls. WTF is going on?

I have to think people just realize how demented and incompetent Trump is, and are getting sick and tired of him and his enablers?

Either that or people lying to pollsters so that we get complacent

I think it is some of both. There are many Trump voters who are in the closet. They agree with him regarding discriminating based on race, sex, religion, you name it. However, they know they are are wrong in these beliefs so they keep their hate to themselves and quietly root for Trump to win. There are others who care for nothing more than their financial investments. If the market is high and good, they’re all in for Trump. If they start losing money in the market, well Trump’s gotta go. Their loyalty is to the dollar bill only.

Slightly different kind of poll:
“American pride has continued its downward trajectory reaching the lowest point in the two decades of Gallup measurement. The new low comes at a time when the U.S. faces public health and economic crises brought on by the coronavirus pandemic and civil unrest following the death of George Floyd in police custody.

Although a majority of adults in the U.S. still say they are "extremely proud" (42%) or "very proud" (21%) to be American, both readings are the lowest they have been since Gallup's initial measurement in 2001.”

“The more bad things happen in the country, it just solidifies support for Trump,” said Phillip Stephens, GOP chairman in Robeson County, N.C., one of several rural counties in that swing state that shifted from supporting Barack Obama in 2012 to Trump in 2016. “We’re calling him ‘Teflon Trump.’ Nothing’s going to stick, because if anything, it’s getting more exciting than it was in 2016.”

This year, Stephens said, “We’re thinking landslide.”

“The narrative from the Beltway is not accurate,” said Joe Bush, chairman of the Republican Party in Muskegon County, Mich., which Trump lost narrowly in 2016. “Here in the heartland, everybody is still very confident, more than ever.”

Maybe Mr. Stephens needs to get out of his bubble?

I like these numbers. But there are also a lot of undecideds.

In line with CNN, isn't it? The one Trump tried to get them to apologize for? Ha

Yup and it’s even worse in the battleground states - all of which are ones that Trump won.

Not an usual number of undecideds for this point in the cyxle. Typically, undecideds break against the incumbent. For Trump to win with these numbers, he will need to.pull an elephant out of a hat.

I agree about this and worry about the closet racists. If there's any old North Carolinians like me out there, you might remember the Jesse Helms vs Harvey Gantt race. Seemed like Gantt would win until all the old closet racists went into the voting booth and pulled the level for the fossilized old racist Jesse Helms.

There was a plotline like this on Shameless a couple seasons ago. It still haunts me.
