What's going on with FCBEscola NOVA?

a few parents completely obnoxious and fanatic. Not really something I've seen at other clubs

Obnoxious soccer parents yelling from the sidelines at teams and refs? Or just obnoxious ipeople in general.

I'm not surprised to see some of the more extreme dialogue here just from that experience. And no, it wasn't like anything I've seen at other clubs, big or small.

I have kids in several age groups at Barca, but I have not seen anyone like you've described. I know that they kicked out of the program a couple of kids, who had behavior issues (being obnoxious and disruptive). I would be surprized if the club tolerated this kind of behaviour from the parents on the sidelines.

Take a video recording of the parents along the sideline at a Barca game at a tournament... you will hear the yelling former VSA & Loudon dads who signed their kids up for the Barcelona experience.

This is a very generalized statement but could distinguish what type of families join Barca. Overall I see more parents that are "true" soccer fans at Braca than in other local clubs, they sport their favorite team jerseys, talk soccer, and may still play in adult leagues. Dads seem to be more involved here so maybe it's their acceptance of the Barca way or just living vicariously through their kids. Where we came from, there were 10-20% of parents that actually played or even knew anything about the sport outside of the basics. I assume many Barca supporters here are the fanatics that look at the program from the perception that American style of football is garbage and think the Barca way is better in every regards.

Most parents here are very respectful of the club, coaches, and players. But you will always have the jerk that thinks they know it better, that ratio is pretty much on par with other clubs I've seen. The difference are the coaches, they are ALL level headed and they yell to the kids, not at the kids during games. That is a welcome change.

Being obnoxious doesn't always mean yelling from the sideline or being disruptive.

I think there's a small taste of it in the previous response. The statement about "true" soccer fans and assumption that the vast majority of people at other clubs didn't/don't play and aren't "true" fans, along with the general tone of condescension. That's something that repeats itself in this thread as one reads through.

On the dads being more involved, I've seen lots of that in just about every club and there's a lot of vicarious living going on universally in youth sports!

You are spending too much time on this board lecturing everyone about how everything is bad about Barca. Now the parents are obnoxious. I see numerous Barca's parents several times a week and your assertions do not reflect what I see four time every week. I am calling BS on you. For whatever reason you are bitter about Barca, but it is time to move on. Good luck with your new club. Invest yourself there. Do something positive. And I don't mean astroturfing.

I’m continually amazed at the level of interest in Barca. I only visit this forum maybe once a month but this thread is always near the top.

You know, it's interesting. You really do believe there is only one person making critiques when there have been many. I've generally steered clear of these threads since I made an honest post with positives and negatives early and was taken to the carpet for it.

Sorry if it's inconvenient for you, but I'm just reporting what I have seen and experienced. As I provided in my first review of the club many months ago, there are good things. However, that doesn't mean that there aren't negatives. Your continuous response to everything and everyone who has any critique is to invalidate it, but that doesn't make you right. You'd be better served to try to understand and acknowledge the criticisms, instead of unintentionally confirming them with some of the responses like the one I pointed out.

Why do you even care? If you have a kid there then leave. It isn't a big deal. If you don't have a kid there then why do you care if people are or are not happy there? Why do you care how they represent themselves on a forum in a club that you do not have a player involved with?

I mean seriously, you are complaining about a few parents on a thread regarding a club that you likely have no personal experience with but it is the Barca parents who are the obnoxious ones. SMH

Summarizes nicely what is wrong with this thread: if you do not see Barca at the best thing that ever happened to soccer in the US, you’re asked to leave.

You were not asked to leave. You were asked why do you care so much about a club you are not involved with? It is you who is obsessed over the attitudes of people you don’t know at a club you’re not affiliated with.

Exactly what open dialog would you like to have when your only concern is you don’t seem to like the parents on this thread. Exactly what does that have to do with the the club or the training?

You realize these post are most likely coming from coaches from around the area that see Barca as a threat. I love the game of soccer and have 4 kids in different programs and I appreciate options because not every player develops the same within a program. This system is proven to work so I even as a Non Barca family I'd put a vegas bet on the fact that this program will be considered a gold standard in 5-10 years. You Barca families need to stop feeding the trolls!

This is wrong, but nice conspiracy theory. I think it's just as likely if not more that there is someone on the Barca staff posting on these boards, just based on the postings.
