Please stop pretending to be so stupid. They're dead. It's too late.

It's not the "huge difference" you think it is. Look up contributory negligence and envision a legal scenario where the passengers' poor judgment of getting into a car with a driver known to have been drinking eliminates any $$ recovery (or recovery by the estate) in a suit against the driver. |
| I wonder how our very vocal defense attorney here would like to reduce the likelihood of another party drinker teen driver? |
Who? |
I don't think their reputation is tarnished. Though your concern for their reputation is laudable, I guess. |
| Things will eventually start coming out. The guilt will eat inside some people. The parents that hosted the party will get their day and after all this hush hush, I hope they spend at least 6 months in jail for involuntary manslaughter and not just a fine they can easily write a check for. Because parents need to stop serving minors alcohol and the only way to get the cool parents to truly second guess themselves is to put them in jail. Fines mean nothing. |
I know...I was at an event a week ago and witnessed a minor approach his parent and ask her to buy him a drink. Her response, "Are you driving?" And then she proceeded to purchase a beer for him. Total shock as I have never seen this behavior in what I considered to be responsible parents. I just don't get it! |

More and more parents are afraid to say no. Their children are the ones who are most likely unable to say no, as well.
Parents need to band together (those who really care) and see the truth for themselves. "Everyone" is NOT going to the party. Just say no. Just think how grateful are the kids who WEREN'T allowed to go to that fateful party one month ago. Kudos to their parents who just said no. |
Where do you get this idea from? Actually teenage alcohol use is now at its lowest level since at least 1975. http://www.monitoringthefuture.org//pubs/monographs/mtf-overview2014.pdf |
| Please bold the word "alcohol" in my post, 15:16. |
But the parents say no and kids climb out windows. |
OK. Then where do you get the idea that "more and more" parents are afraid to say no? |
You may start another thread for yourself. |
And then what happens next? |
