Sounds like Freddie Mac’s “Centers of Excellence”!!! Doomed to fail. |
Artificial Intelligence is going to eat their jobs is the claim. |
government doesn't pay teaser rates. that'll be $30/seat/month for each class of things folks might need. microsoft has 80 things named copilot, they'll all be billed separately and do a crappy job. |
Ha! Or maybe it’s just common sense that the functions were performed just as well if not better only a few years ago with a quarter of the people and no ME as a senior officer position. But keep those time sheet and leave buyback emails coming. Need to keep people busy handling “complex issues of organizational management.” |
| There used to be a few competent people in those ME roles who were truly skilled executives who could free up the directors and truly advocate behind the scenes for their divisions and offices — but not so much anymore. As those people left, there was a definite shift to hiring MEs who were more or less business managers, many of them came from other government agencies and have no experience at another financial regulatory agency. The change has been noticeable to anyone who has been working in the building for the last decade or more. With the shift, the concentration of resources to smaller issues like getting your time card validated and repeating stuff already published in SEC Today has increased. If posters are being critical of the ME offices, this is one reason why — IMO. |
What “complex organizational issues” are the supporters of these admins talking about? And I agree with another poster who said there used to be MEs who were competent. Not anymore. Like that person said, especially the last ENF ME and the current exams ME who came from other agencies - completely incompetent. Reduce the glut. Merge these ME offices back into OSO and OHR. Leave one business manager per division. An SK14, no higher. |
Exactly! And from the stories out there, it sounds like competent as a hiring qualification has been replaced with vindictive for some of these MEs. |
| Is the current ME a new position for ENF? Was there no ME before? |
ENF was the first division to get an ME. But the one before the current one was really so subpar, that she had to be moved to OCR. I don’t know how the exams ME is still there. I can guess though. Same with CF, DERA, IM. No wonder the chairman thinks we are all overpaid if he sees these admins all over. |
| Nothing says 'I'm essential and not at all overpaid" like anonymous ranting on a parenting forum all day. |
The IM ME office used to append a DEI motto at the end of their email signatures. They had to remove it after the EOs. |
Emails signature may be gone but her biases are not. |
No doubt! |
