Josh Ripp, a retired US Navy officer who voted for Donald Trump, was fired from his engineer job of flying into hurricanes for NOAA.

"He backed Trump due to the president's commitment to the rule of law, he said, but now Mr Ripp thinks Trump is flouting the correct procedures for reducing the federal workforce.

'We're very good stewards of the money we're given by the government. We're not out here committing waste or anything like that,' Mr Ripp said."

Farmers face steep losses in the middle of Trump's trade war and funding cuts
From funding cuts to tariffs, farmers have found themselves struggling to find markets for their products and facing the risk of steep losses for the year ahead.

How did the farmers not vote for this? They 100% voted for this because they liked their handouts. If only Harris didn't laugh...

Ten of 13 participants from this battleground, auto-industry state bordering Canada said what they're seeing isn't what they thought they were voting for — and they're worried Trump's approach may hurt their pocketbooks.

Erratic," "frightening," "disruptive" and "dictator" were among the words they used to describe their concerns.

They knew this was Trump when they voted for him in November. What Donnie is doing now is not a surprise to no one. They need self-reflection and own the real reason they voted for chaos over the Blasian woman who guaranteed steady and boring growth for the US

I’m glad their vote to own the libs worked out so well for them.

Anyone who bothered to do even a tiny bit of research would have quickly known that Trump has a history of multiple bankruptcies, and that Trump has a history of not paying his bills — particularly with contractors.
So, for those who wanted the government to be run more “like a business”that’s exactly what they got/bought.

I would dearly love to hear his arguments supporting “the president’s commitment to the rule of law.”

Johns Hopkins has $13B in reserves. Why do they need taxpayers money?

Maybe because we would like the results of any research to be in the public domain?? It's a win for us too you know.

Public research is in the public domain. What are you even talking about?

Just because Bezos, Musk, and Zuck want to hoard everything for themselves doesn’t mean research scientists think the same.

Like most pilots, he doesn’t like black people. And gets triggered when he sees the rare black or female captain.

Pilots are big on the “hurrr durrrr DEI!!!” bandwagon. Not all pilots, of course.

Public research is, because of government oversight. THAT is why it's in the public domain. This administration wants to privatize it.

Many Americans watched their retirement accounts grow during President Trump’s first term and voted for him believing their balances would swell once he returned to office.

Instead, their nest eggs have languished during the early weeks of his second term.

“He’s doing some hard work, some things that are very difficult for people to understand and difficult for people to accept, but it’ll be to our long-term benefit,” said Patrick William, a 53-year-old internal medicine physician in Louisville, Ky.

Maybe because there is research that is in the public interest and it won't happen if there isn't government input? Maybe the private sector won't fund anything that is not applied. Basic research won't happen.

I don’t think the average non-scientist understands how basic science undergirds everything.
