they would have to be complete morons to try to get more competition trying out for their kids spot. your theory is nonsensical. |
Don't mean man to trolls. This person is a sea lion. Just ignore them and they'll go harass another topic. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sealioning |
Only 1-2 players from there lowest 4th team went on to U10 last year. No one else returned. Going to 9x9 next year, there is little confidence in anyone moving up in that club. Today, they only have two teams in U11 which are in the 2nd and 6th Div. That means they will need to create the 9x9, 3rd and 4th teams which will likely be in the lowest division because they will try to fill those seats with last years U10, 7x7 roster from 4th/5th teams if they choose to stay. I would bet the performance would be next to none. Not much of a good outlook IMO. |
Very true. The coaches have a-lot of ego. |
Why are you replying to a comment about 2011 Girls, who are U13, with what looks to be information on U10 girls? |
Agree, the coaches in evil. Lots of nepotism already regardless of clear player improvement. Lots of talk and no action. |
They do this for there two top teams or keep they're 4th/5th team rosters full as feeders. |
You must be talking about Boys rising U11. Girls will have 3 teams for 9v9, which will be confirmed when coaches are announced shortly. I anticipate many of the Gold and White players are returning, not sure about Black or Silver. For this current year, most of the u9s Girls stayed with the team into U10s. I believe there were more new players than Girls who left. I anticipate it will be the same for this year. |
I agree. Seems to be the direction needed in order to look out for your kids equity. It’s unfortunate you have defend, poke or attempt to open any dialog with no resolve. I think for all parents here its best to hold on tightly to the purse strings even after the season before committing to any team that doesn't fit neatly into your kids level of play. They always have openings. |
I agree whole heartedly on every-word. Just bumping this up for you again to the top. |
Agree, mostly recreation. They're are 2-3 players that are always arguably pretty good out of the litter that demonstrate some promise however Valor wouldn’t now because they don't perform any real evaluation. More subjective comments. |
All of the people posting on here?? Thats not my interpretation at all from the comments. Seems very informative with some incite. |
I understand your comfortable, but do you think your kid is good enough to be on gold or playing for that higher level team? If yes, whats your rationale? Whats the difference in terms of commitment from level 1 and 2 teams? |
My daughter is currently playing for a DI college, but she was on the 5th team of a local cup in U9. She moved up to 2nd at U10 and stayed there until U12. The point of the story is for all of you to stop worrying about how many teams a club carries because there will always be a few players that are late bloomers that if they had not been given a spot on a lower team they may never have played or been motivated to grind. |
It must be the overall leadership and over promising of the club. This is supposed to be travel soccer (best of the best type s***) but has become expensive recreation in the end. Result of no standards or expectations set in place. I think the comments in this thread speak to that and its easy to dismiss the issue when you may have never experienced it. JMO |
