| They just arrived at the schools this week. |
| Did everyone else get these as handouts in the backpack that the child could read? I was very surprised it was not in a sealed envelope. |
The nnat scores were mailed to me two years ago. One year we got the Cogat scores sent home loose. A parent complained and our school probably won’t do that again. Have you ever volunteered to stuff folders? It takes a fair amount of time. The nnat scores won’t be given to a parent volunteer either, and they’ll give it to the teacher to send Home. With the Cogat scores at our school they said they did it that way to try to get it to us as soon as possible. People complain about how long it takes to send these scores but just recognize that these other steps take more time. And maybe it’s worth it, but it does take more time. I didn’t understand what the Cogat score sheet meant myself so I didn’t have concerns that my kid saw it and could understand it. |
| Our school only mails these types of tests. |

For 30 minutes, he clicked on some pictures on a computer. He got a score. Being proud of that is like being proud of his weight check at the pediatrician’s office. Are you proud of your kid’s weight? |
I knew I’d get a snarky answer. My son is the youngest in his class and we struggle with focus, so yes, I’m proud that he was able to focus for 30 minutes and click on pictures (the right ones) and get a score equal to 98 percentile. He said it was a lot of fun and the best part of his day that day. |
