4th grade wait list at Shepherd - Chances?

We have a low teens number on 4th grade wait list at Shepherd. Anyone have any idea whether we're likely to get in? It looks like the most recent data available (for 2015?) shows only 2 wait list slots were ultimately offered for 4th grade (although there were 17 slots for 3rd grade that same year).

I realize this is a bit like reading tea leaves, but just wondering if there are any folks with a similar number who made it off the wait list in recent years.....

Looking at last 3 years of data for 4th grade, I think it's a long shot. I think they probably lose more students after 1st and 2nd, and backfill more significantly at 3rd.

Private school. Either one of the traditional DC privates or, for some families, the Jewish schools (JPDS or Chas E Smith).

I live in the neighborhood, had a child at Shepherd, and know many families still there. Definitely a few leave for JPDS in the early grades (now renamed Milton). I don't know anyone who left for CESJDS. A few others leave for other privates. However, I would not describe it as a mass exodus leaving in any one grade--more like a trickle.

I always wonder how they count the WL call made, e.g. if 4 people reject the same spot, it will result into 4 WL calls, but at the end of the day, this is still only one spot offered right?
Unless they only count accepted WL offer?I find this data misleading...

The number is how many people received calls. It could well be 4 calls were made to fill one slot.

No, it's number of waitlist offers made -- I don't think the number is related to the number of people who received calls, it's how many waitlist slots were ultimately offered. So, it's entirely possible that for 4 slots, they might move through, e.g., 10 spots on the waitlist.

What grade? Controlling a class of second graders is far more difficult than 4th graders.

I think knowing when is more important than what grade. The newest principal came on 3 years ago, right? But it makes a difference in terms of the culture of the school whether this was 3 or 6 or 10 years ago. Please respond PP.
