There was a change in policy announced to parents and players. Not sure who has interest in claiming fake news.

That said, it was not a significant issue during the season. Pretty limited. All the girls played a lot, and pretty close to equal across the full season.

Straightforward. Capital has been historically committed to equal playing time. That was the policy. Nuanced adjustment is that equal playing time is the intent, but they reserve the right to adjust to the game situation. In practice this was limited, but noticed, when late goals were needed.

Equal playing time assumes everyone is equal. Unless the team is really deep, that’s likely never going to happen. It screws the girls that work hard and rewards the weaker players. Glad to see they changed the policy. It will result in more wins and higher rankings. Weaker players should be put in when the team is losing or winning by a large margin.

The 27s would have had the same policy during their recruiting year that people are describing as being new/changed.

Serious question . . . does everyone take some liberties with height measurements like we did in the olden days? I'm 5'10.5" on a good day but obviously would have listed 6'0". I would hate to be following the 1990s norms only learn a school no longer has interest in my daughter because her dumb dad forced her to lie about her height. Please help.

"Policy"? Sounds so.... political. Lets try "change in philosophy." I think that the philosophy/goal is each player gets 50% playing time. But player performance and game situation could affect playing time.

When parents were promised equal playing time and that isn’t happening, things are going to get messy for a while. The fall is over and summer will hopefully be different.

equal playing time? I am surprised that any team would promise that. A girl who has a ton of talent, works hard, and attends all the practices, should play as much as a mediocre girl who doesn't want to be there an coasts along?

when I was growing up, a coach taught me the difference between "equal playing time" and "fair playing time."

When you were growing up your parents probably did not spend $5000 for you to play club sport. the only purpose of club lax is to get recruited. Each player needs to have adequate time to showcase their ability in front of college coaches. That is the entire purpose of the club.

an inch is one thing. that can depend on the shoe. I've seen some girls who are 5'3" list 5'6 on their profile. that's a big difference

when coaches show up to see your daugther play they need to see them play. if the team is not playing some players you need to switch clubs.

Thanks. I believe some of the showcase events like UA or BIC do height measurements. Are these measurements taken with or without cleats?
