Maybe this is a silly, obvious question - but how did your body change after having a baby, and was the change "permanent"?
I am a healthy, 31-year old mom of a 19 month old. I've always been active and was a healthy, normal weight before pregnancy. Fast forward to now - I still work out and eat well most of the time. I've lost all but 3 lbs of the "baby weight" but I feel like my body is just different. Is this typical? Does your body (not weight, necessarily) ever go back to the way it was before having kids? Does it happen with time/exercise or not at all? |
| My shape is the same but I’m overall “thicker” even though I’m only 5ish lbs away from prepregnancy weight. |
| My ribcage is permanently larger after 2 pregnancies. My nipples are forever erect like pencil erasers after almost 4 years of breastfeeding. I’ve been thinking about asking if there is anything that can be done to make them relax again without causing permanent loss of sensation - like maybe Botox that would wear off? |

My hips are wider 3 years after having my second.
My breasts sag, but I think it's because I overdid the pump. |
| My small boobs got even smaller. |
SAME. Omg they're seriously tiny |
| My rib cage is bigger. |
| Another with a larger ribcage, saggy boobs, and c-section pooch (and I work out daily). |
No thing as a silly question, but

I'm 5'8". Pre-preg I was around 135, and now I'm around 140.
My ribcage is bigger and I wear a bigger bra than before. I weaned slowly and didn't have big breasts to begin with, so they're slightly larger than before. I don't have diastasis, but my abs are stretched and I need to make a conscious effort to sit up straight to tuck in my abdomen. My posture is different, in that my pelvis still tilts forward and contributes to my belly sticking out. My pelvic floor is weak, to the point I've thought about pelvic floor PT. My already-large feet went from a 9.5/10 to a 10.5/11. |
OP here - I can take the joke. I SAID it was an obvious, silly question.
Really I just want to feel better about saying "see ya!" to my pre-baby body. The world puts a lot of pressure on women to look like their pre-baby selves so I was looking for some validation that yes, it's OK to look a bit different now, and no, it doesn't mean you're not working out hard enough or eating well enough just because you're still a few pounds up and a few inches out

Wait till you hit 40. |

My small boobs are back to small but floppy now (i previously couldn't understand how anyone could fail the "pencil test". I now fail the pencil test).
My stomach has a pooch and is floppy My hips always feel super tight and pubic bone hurts when running. I leak pee when I try to sprint. Sigh. |
| Your lucky husbands. |
| My rib cage is slightly wider -- not enough to change bra sizes, just enough to make bras fit differently. My feet are longer -- not enough to change shoe size, just enough to make shoes fit differently. I do have diastasis and do exercises to address it, but I expect I'll always have it. I have hips now, which is nice, but makes pants fit differently. |
