Beauty and Fashion
| Who thought this was a good idea? I guess with the return of the opaques in the last couple of years, it was only inevitable. *sigh* |
It was the hosiery manufacturers' idea...... Nevertheless, I'm not going back to hose.
|
| Nope, not going back. I'll wear opaque tights in the winter with boots, but that's about it. |
|
Oh god, I will never wear sheer hosiery again.
Opaques are doable with some ensembles. But, that is all I can tolerate. |
| I think all pantyhose and stockings were invented by some sort of sadist. |
| I don't mind hosiery at all. Except during the summer. My first summer working in DC was pre-business casual and I had to walk/metro. Horrible. |
| Wow - I am so out of fashion I didn't know they went out of style. So what are you supposed to wear with business suits if you don't wear stockings? Tights look goofy and are hard to match to anything other than black. |
|
If your biz requires hose, then you can either:
1. Switch to pants. 2. Move to Europe where they don't wear hosiery in any biz. 3. Wear patio dresses.
|
| Well I feel like a colossal fashion dinosaur now. I love hose, especially control top. It's like losing 5 pounds without having to tackle my cookie addiction! |
I'm with you. I don't wear hose during the summer, and I never wear them with pants. But if I'm wearing a skirt or dress in the winter I do wear hose, and they've almost always been sheer. oh well. |
| I didn't know hose were out either. I just haven't had to wear them because my work became bus. casual and then I stayed home. |
| if you work in a very professional office i think you need to wear it (its more comfortable to me anyway), but a very sophisticated business suit paired with pastey legs with bug bites looks very out of place to me. |
| I can only assume that the people keeping track of whether sheer hose is in or out of fashion to not work in a business environment. As a lawyer, I wouldn't dare wear a skirt without hose. Now with my skirt outside of the office or court? Doubtfull. I just never thought of hose as a fashion thing (whether in or out) and think of them only as a necessity in the workplace. |
| I'm a lawyer and the only time I wear hose is if I'm in court and wearing a suit with a skirt (and usually I wear pants suits to avoid it). Whatever you do, please avoid the sheer white pantyhose or "suntan" so popular in DC!! Stick to neutrals like gray and taupe. |
| Gray and taupe? On your legs? Gross! Are you going for the corpse look? |
