Travis and Taylor

Starting with Taylor herself. Using your ex as Easter egg fodder is not respectful. If you want her fans to be respectful, start with the star herself. Otherwise, you are expecting more from the fan base than you do Taylor. Which is an interesting statement about fandom- when do you expect the idol to follow norms and when do they get a free pass?

It was no easter egg! It was flat out saying they had issues with their relationship due to him being "blue". She flat out tells us.

It's relevant because we're seeing the same "love story" play out on repeat with Taylor. At this point they're in the publicly besotted stage. Next, they'll move into the steady comfortable stage, which for Taylor is the disillusioned, bored stage. Travis will be on his way out, Taylor will release her side to be combed through.

Joe is the After to Travis's Now.

WTAF are you talking about? You clearly know absolutely nothing. And it's utterly irrelevant to speak about Joe's depression/non-depression in a thread about Taylor Swift and her current boyfriend. It's irrelevant to speak about any former relationship in a thread about her and her current boyfriend. You just hate her. It's OK to hate her, but damn woman get a hobby that doesn't involve all this hate.

OK. The "actual f**k" I was talking about (I'm not the one you've been sparring with), is that it makes sense to talk about Joe Alwyn's treatment as Taylor's boyfriend because it's the same trend. Her behavior toward Travis is going to follow the same basic pattern as it did for everyone before him. I don't hate Taylor.

You say “is going to follow the same basic pattern” as if you know it as fact. The truth is maybe it will, maybe it won’t. Can’t everyone have some fun with it while it’s going good and hope that maybe, just maybe, it will work out? No two men are alike in all ways, and certainly Travis, as do we all, has his faults. But maybe there is some combination he has, be it his comfort level with the fame part of it, his support, his work ethic, his values, maybe even his goofy sense of humor, that others have not had, that will make it work this time.

Like PP has some insider knowledge. Taylor Swift has individual relationships with individual people like else everyone does. And PP is also sparring with different people. THIS relationship has been more public because that's what they've chosen to do; the previous one she followed his lead. And she decided she didn't like it, and she has every right to feel that way.

Wow. Just beautiful.

She doesn’t have the kind of beautiful voice that draws me in. What makes this “mashup” so moving to people? The lyrics?

The lyrics and her voice, which is beautiful and natural.

Isn’t it just the lyrics? She doesn’t have the kind of voice that pulls at your heartstrings, her range is limited and the melodies are very simple, more percussive than melodic.

Millions of people disagree with you. Her voice is very pretty and not autotuned.

It’s almost like … we’re all allowed to like whatever music we want or something! But these people who fancy themselves art critics just have to act like their opinion is fact.

Even better, how about a separate post for the haters to hate and leave the rest of us to enjoy some positivity.

How about you stop calling people "haters" when they point out that TS has trained her fans to look for Easter eggs and that conveys to fan speculation about Joe's mental health?

We could also talk about how she used "gay" as a insult on her first album. She changed the lyric and never mentioned it again. She also used to have a fake country accent.

Plenty of artists evolve and realize that something they said or did a long time ago should be changed or removed now. As for her accent, her own mother has a southern accent and she grew up with one. You can hear it on her old home movies. If anything, she obviously had to work at *getting rid* of her accent to appeal to a wider demographic.

DP. My god, please stop your incessant, repetitive posts about the same thing. You are beyond tiresome and you're derailing this thread.

It will turn out like the others. If you want, we can start a list of possible "reasons" the fans will settle on (often led by clues). Travis was caught Liking someone else's social media. Travis cheated outright. Travis was too dumb to keep up with Taylor's genius. Travis was fame hungry and he used her. (this is where I'd put my money for the pitchfork fan fury). If everyone's feeling generous when it ends, the story will be Travis and Taylor were both too busy with their careers and are parting while having forever love and support.

It’s all just white noise. None of us can predict their future, or our own, but wow you sure seem to think you know everything about her and her life for someone who clearly hates her. I can’t stand Beyonce. I couldn’t tell you one thing about her personal life other than she’s married to Jay Z. Because I don’t care enough. You sure do care about Taylor Swift, though, that’s for sure.
