There will be a murder conviction against the ex husband. The mistress and lawyer will bury him saving their butts. |
She is almost 86 and frail and these are 5 young kids. I think also the kids have different religion and that is very important in custody issues. Otherwise, she would have filed for custody and would not have to "kidnap" the kids by removing them out of state. I bet she is waiting for the six months of NY residence and will try to file there hoping to get a better disposition for her as she is well connected in these circles being the former president of one of the organizations for low income or something kids. The CT judge has already twice denied her motions to award permanent custody to Gloria. What is suspicious is that they never bring Melissa, Jennifer's sister, forward, nor did they try to establish temporary co-custody for grandma and Melissa, similar to the one Jacko's kids had when the judge said that his 80+ year old mom could not maintain full custody and had one of the cousins share custody. Gloria has also be avoiding full evidenciary custody hearing which leads me to believe she does not think the court will be favorable to her. |
Gloria apparently has previous psychiatric issues, as had Jennifer. If you read the news articles on the August custody hearings, Doulos asked for grandma's past and current "psychiatric records" examined by the court, and tried to enter into evidence the family mental health evaluation that was done before Jennifer's disappearance. That's why Gloria did court forum shopping and went to a different court to have temporary custody as the first judge denied her temporary custody too. According to that filing Gloria was paying Jennifer's divorce lawyer $69,000 monthly. Gloria is also trying to prevent the older twins, 13 yr old to have their own attorney as they are old enough to have their preference taken into consideration. Yea, it seems the grandma will not get permanent custody. |
BTW, the family court judge never prohibited Doulos from seeing the children. That was only an agreement with the DA that he will not seek visitation with the children so he could be released on bail in the summer. Now there was a different nail hearing and terms. |

Crazier every time I check.
Civil attorney Kent Douglas Mawhinney, 53, a close friend of Dulos, remains jailed in lieu of a $2 million bail after being charged with conspiracy to murder for allegedly securing a makeshift grave site ahead of the murder.
|
Did you see he needed to be arrested at gun point, as he was fleeing the state? This really is a crazier than fiction. |
No! Really?! A big time CT lawyer being hunted down by state police. Wow. |
|
Holy crap the lawyer tried to kill his wife as well.
“FOX61 also obtained a sworn affidavit by Mawhinney’s wife regarding the incident. In it, she claims the person was a stocky young man who was wearing gloves and carrying a crow bar. She believed a red gas can was inside the bag. She says signs of forced entry were subsequently located by the garage door. She says police took a report, ran a plate on a red SUV and questioned a young man from Vernon who claimed he was there to repair the garage door. The young man said Kent Mawhinney asked him to do it. The incident from April 15th, 2018 was classified as an “uncorroborated criminal complaint,” by South Windsor Police Sgt. Mark Cleverdon who declined to comment further.” https://fox61.com/2020/01/09/video-shows-suspicious-person-outside-home-of-kent-mawhinneys-estranged-wife/amp/ |
My MIL is 86 and there is no way she would be an appropriate guardian for even 1 child. She could be dead at any moment, and she is very slow and tires easily. I imagine her sister hasn't been put forward as a guardian because she has some very obvious defect that would lead to an immediate smack down by a judge. Or she doesn't want to |
| Who do you think should raise these kids? No mother, criminal father, no relatives coming forward ? The State? Granny can hire all the help she needs. 13 year olds are old enough for boarding school. |
| Jennifer Dulos (was) is a mother of five kids, who range from ages 8 to 13, including two sets of twins. Dulos, 50. The whole family could go to boarding school if needed. They are very wealthy. Or they could live in foster homes ... |
Privileged communication. Using that would result in an instant mistrial under the guise of ineffective counsel. |
|
The grandmother is very wealthy, and I imagine has all the hired help one could ever need to raise 5 kids.
I don't think Fortis' has family in the US, in fact I think their former nanny ran over his mother? There is no reason that grandma won't keep them. CT's foster system is no place for 5 kids who have a rich relative who wants them. |
She took the kids immediately to the grandmother's apt in Manhattan, where they were under armed guard. |
That's not how it works in family court. There is an evidenciary hearing and the judge decides who is the most competent adult, not who we think. That person does not have to be in the USA, or his sister might say she is moving to the USA to take care of them. She is 63 years, architect, has 2 daughters of her own who I assume are adults now so she is near retirement. Their family was well off, just not as high as Jennifer. Clearly Gloria is both old and there are other issues in her background and she is avoiding a full court hearing, otherwise the judge who was in charge for the divorce would not have denied her full custody, or even temporary one. Then she went forum shopping to another judge who had not had the full docket and right now she only has temporary guardianship for the duration of the investigation and trial. The sister Melissa is being kept out so as someone else said there must be an issue other wise they would have Melissa be the public face in court with custody as she also lives in NYC and the grandma take care of the kids. They also do not want the older twins have a separate attorney which means the kids have expressed they would want to live with dad and his family. It is not how wealthy you are but how competent. Plus the kids have trust funds, I assume from the grandfather, so who ever has custody will be able to use that money to raise them. I also caution everyone, they do not have a criminal dad. In this country everyone is assumed innocent until proven guilty. Unless someone is convicted, he is considered innocent. Also, the evidence are very circumstantial so do not be so sure he will get convicted. The police also have dragged their feet and played games so they still have not shown the people they investigated beyond Doulos and his girlfriend and what other leads they had. I believe their hands were forced to act this week because Doulos was going to have the divorce proceedings dismissed and then get custody of the kids. But now Doulos and his attorneys will have access to all the evidence from the police investigation and will see what exists. But I found a ping from the attorney's cell phone at a cell tower near the country club is a laughable evidence to accuse someone of plotting to commit a murder, that's all they have for the attorney that allegedly digged the grave. No fingerprints, no receipts he bought the tarp and lime, nobody seen him near the grave, etc. I can just see the DA claiming that the two of them made a pact to kill each other's ex-wives and they try to make an attempted robbery at the attorney's ex-wife as an attempted murder plot. We will see. I can see the movie coming that's for sure. |
