| What a horrible horrible person Fortis is to make 5 children orphans for his own greed. |
Funny, I am a mom and have been following the case too. As I have said, we still have to give the benefit of the doubt as the law requires. Before I read the abc article, I was woa, his attorney prepared the grave, etc. The only "evidence" is that his phone was tapped in a cell tower near the country club. That's beyond circumstantial evidence. Again, whether Doulos killed his wife, both himself and his family would be allowed to have regular visitations with the children. That's what the law states. His sister might even have custody of the children. Afterall, that's what Gloria tried to avoid by removing the kids from CT. That's kidnapping according to both federal and state law, and now she tries to delay adjudication of the custody issue adhering to possession is 9/10 of the law. I am afraid that even if Fotis is convicted that would end bad for Gloria and retaining custody as she is so old and there are certain issues that will make the court award custody to Doulos' sister and not Melissa. |

I wonder why Michelle had to go to the hospital?

| Hell no should his sister have custody. |
Nope. Nor should he have anything beyond supervised visitation. Ever. How did she have FIVE kids with this monster?? |
| Wait. He murdered the kids mother, dropped dozens of plastic trash bags full of evidence for the trash truck to pick up in a commercial part of town, and the man thinks he ought to get custody or have visitation rights? Does CT have the death penalty, because I think this man needs to be fried. I am 100% on team grandma. |
The grandma will not get permanent custody, even if he is convicted, that's why she is trying to avoid an official hearing at the Family and Probate court. I bet his sister will get custody at the end if he is convicted. |
Not anymore. How does visitation work if/when the father ends up in prison? Can those kids be compelled to visit him in prison to fulfill his visitation? |
Yes, there are cases that the child was the product of rape and had to visit the father. Only when the father relinquishes parental rights there is no visitation. I bet you he will never do that. Right now the DA is trying to have him convicted for murder with special circumstances as that's the only life with no parole. That's why they are pushing the angle that he murdered his ex-wife because he wanted to gain control of the kids' trust funds. The only way they can attach special circumstances is the murder for financial gain. Otherwise in less than 10 years he will be out. |
Why wouldn’t she get permanent custody? My MIL was in her late seventies when she got custody of my husband’s young niece and nephew after my SIL was murdered by her husband. |
They wouldn’t be orphans unless he killed himself. |
And she has help from their long time nanny, and has plenty of money. |
Oh my god.....how can anyone be so evil to someone, much less three people? I hope the mistress and lawyer turn on the ex for reduced sentences. However, to know they could have prevented her death makes me want them to be in prison forever. Her poor children. |
I imagine only the mistress and lawyer will be offered a deal. The third person is the ex husband. |
What help did the nanny provide? I must have missed it. Thanks. |
