Sounds like you have 3 intelligent friends. |

Kamala will win.
And she will be terrible. It's a lose-lose situation for US so just flip a coin. They both suck. How anyone can support either of them is the real tragedy. He is a convicted felon who has made a mockery of the US in every way. She is a hot mess out of her depth and couldn't lead a horse to water. I mean neither of them have legit policies that will impact more positively than negatively. We are screwed the next 4 years. Take your energy and figure out how to get through a tough 4 years financially. |
Oh, honey, "one" is the number that looks like a stick. |
Some of what you say is true but only one of them have had the job previously and while he was on the job, he cowered in a corner of The White House for 3 hours and refused to respond to pleas for help and guidance while a mob of hundreds stormed our nation's Capitol and roamed the halls looking for prominent leaders to "hang". A Commander-in-Chief's number one priority is to act immediately to protect the country in that situation and Trump did nothing for three hours. For me, that's a disqualifying factor that is unique to Trump because no other POTUS in our history has ever come close to abandoning the country in a moment like that. Not saying I'm voting for Harris but there is no way in heck I can stoop to the level of voting for Trump considering that type of failure when he had the job previously. |
We know you think this because you repeat it every other post in this thread. |
| Even the rats are jumping off the Kamala ship. It’s truly epic watching a disasterous campaign end for her, I had no idea she was this stupid |
Enjoy your tariffs and surging inflation, comrade. |
| I think Harris will win and we will have a string of women as president. Women get sh*t done. Men focus on themselves. Women are far more community minded. I think America will excel under Harris. |
The “convicted felon” gave it away as a neutral they both suck type post. Anyone that doesn’t religiously watch msnbc knows they were bullshit charges and convictions. If you went without it, the post may have achieved its intended purpose. |
The inflation is what you 2020 Biden voters gave us and 2024 Harris voters want to entrench in the economy. |
Trump is outright telling us he plans to raise inflation. It's one of the fundamental components of his policy and the one he talks about most frequently. You should probably be saving as much as you can right now to get ahead of this. |
I hope you are right, as someone who thinks Trump is going to win, but really hopes he doesn’t. |
| Newspapers not endorsing her, polls showing her crash, Dem ads down the ballot showing how a candidate would work with Trump, deranged Hilary. It’s ugly for Kamala, and getting worse by the day. She’s been reduced to screaming Hitler, she’s flailing |
Yes, a lot of Republicans believe this. But not anyone who isn’t Republican, although I think a lot of people are suspicious about the court cases against Trump, so that one might spread to independents and moderate Democrats. But the difference with these beliefs is that the Republicans tend to present them as political opinions. The issues up above (crime, etc) are presented by the Democrats as facts, not political opinions. I mean, who cares that some Republicans call all Democrats Marxists, most voters don’t see that as a demand that they now believe all Democrats are Marxists. The issue the Democrats have is that they’ve taken beliefs and turned them into facts, and are then telling everyone that their facts (which are just beliefs) are representative of reality. People in general hate being told to believe something that they know is not true in their day-to-day reality. And that’s what the Democrats are doing. In the end, people don’t like being gaslit. |
If Trump wins, and then implements his tarriff plan which will exponentially increase inflation, I wonder if any of the people who regularly repeat the above now will ever take the time to learn that the inflation Biden has had to deal with (pretty well!) during his administration, was driven by things that occurred under the Trump administration and specifically by Trump policy. Remember the multiple rounds of Covid relief checks in 2020? They were distributed by Trump and wound up being a big driver of inflation -- that's what happens when you pump money into the economy. I think these checks were likely needed but inflation was one of the side effects. The corporate tax cuts Trump put into place greatly incentivized corporations to raise prices to realize extra profits immediately while those tax cuts were in place. Combined with the extra cash Trump had pumped into the economy which corporations found helped consumers tolerate higher prices without changing habits (at least for a while), this also contributed to inflation. Inflation also had other causes beyond Trump policy-- the pandemic caused disruptions to supply chains that created scarcity in certain consumer goods (including cars and electronics) which drove up prices. Russia's aggression in Ukraine caused energy prices to go up which had inflationary effects globally. People sit around blaming Biden for inflation because it got so bad during his presidency, but the trajectory was created under Trump and by the time Biden took over he was mostly just reacting to it (you can argue that he contributed to it with some of the Covid relief he passed early in his administration, but you can also argue this was necessary for recovery just as you can with the relief Trump passed. Inflation was a foregone conclusion at that point. Had Trump won in 2020 he would have had to deal with the exact same inflationary problem. I doubt he would have made it better because of his obsession with tariffs which always result in higher prices for consumers (they are effectively a sales tax). A part of me almost wants Trump to win to people cam see how bad his policies are and it kills his popularity once and for all. But since he'd be a one term president, probably he'd just set us back in motion for problems that will plague the next president (unless he refuses to leave office). The next person will again be blamed for the impacts of Trump's policies and Trump's MAGA successor will use that to get elected the next time. |
