Some people earlier in this thread looking pretty foolish now. |

GA clubs can bring on ECNL players any time of year. ECNL parents will simply call GA coaches and ask for a tryout. If things go well they'll be invited to join the team. |
take it easy, it is all anonymous, no one knows you pee in your pants. |
All other VA clubs right now - "Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake!". |
NVA? |
Well, many of them will just attempt to latch on with another local ECNL club, thereby throwing even more programs into chaos. The BRAVE teams don't have many skilled players, but I've heard of at least one player who's planning to return to old club after the family spent years bad mouthing the former program. If they take them, this would mean players who stayed with the program get moved out. And honestly, most high-level '06 and '07 players have already signed with schools. The ones left are either settling for a school that will have them, or still trying to justify the parents' paying tens of thousands of dollars over the years with the deluded focus on "helping get into college." The system is a cesspool. |
NO typo. It is NVU. |
No kidding! |
It should be considered a typo. NVU isn’t a serious option. |
It seems that this can go a couple of ways on the girls side:
- Either the girls get stronger because the top players from Union and Brave join FVU and weaker players go to other teams OR - Everyone freaks out and FVU loses top players because they're not willing to gamble on FVU working out. If you get an FVU offer, how can you be assured that a strong team is being built? There will need to be a lot of coordination among parents -- "are you staying?" "who is staying?" |
The main question is, how many players are on a team? |
Would think placing them near would be a great thing, if the level of talent rises. With colleges continuing to cut athletic travel budgets, if ECNL-RL could be a considered a viable source of talent, then scouts could spend less on travel by attending an ECNL-RL event in the same city as National ECNL, but either before or after. |
There are now more asses than seats. If you’re not currently a starter, you’re looking early. If you are a starter you’ll have a seat. Non starters among BRAVE, Union and FCV will end up on one of the three GA squads. Kids who are starters are not panicking. They aren’t enjoying any of this but they’ll find a team. |
You may have a seat, but you may not have minutes. Retaining all starters is 22 kids. I think a lot of starters will be shopping around for new teams |
